When Ahsoka and Luke were having that conversation I said "this is a nerd's dream come true."

Alright, episode was awesome, I can't believe they gave us all of that. I will, however, offer one opinion of criticism. I'm not behind making Grogu choose. Now, I know there are plenty of reasons for doing it. History of the Mandalorians being antithesis of the Jedi. Grogu having to watch/deal with Din growing old. Sure. But Luke didn't exactly give up his attachments with Leia/Han, and even though we don't know for sure, I doubt he would have expected Ben to completely give up his attachment to them, either. Not to mention the whole fear of what attachments can bring being a key catalyst to the fall of the Jedi.

We see you, Mark. This was no accident.
Can someone explain this?

What if he wants him to choose the armor? It may be his first lesson in the "new Jedi way" of allowing attachments.

That is a possibility that I didn't consider. We'll see. Both Luke and Ahsoka were pretty heavy on the attachment thing being difficult for him.

We need Grogu to learn to talk soon so he can ask "why not both?"

I didn't get the impression that's where Luke was leaning, but it's hard to tell. I'm on the fence with putting that decision on Grogu right now. If I was Luke, especially after seeing his memories, I'd be careful putting too much emotional strain on the kiddo just yet.

That was a really special episode, though. The facial tech Disney has is amazing. I was almost crying I was so happy watching Luke train Grogu. Finally, after decades, we get Luke Skywalker back. Finally, we get to see Luke making his Jedi Academy. I've been waiting for that since I was a teenager reading the Jedi Academy book series on Yavin 4.

SW Theory was pretty emotional as well. This is a cool one to watch along with for rewatches.

Not bad. They have some serious work to do if we're one episode out and we're still barely in Boba's show... but it was pretty sweet. Hard to make a lanky blue guy intimidating in live action and yet they pulled it off.

Also was impressed they flat out killed off a big character. Star Wars is loathe to do so but it really showed the stakes for the town and how dangerous Bane is.

I wouldn't expect them to show Grogu's choice but I also didn't expect them to spend two episodes on Mando so... who knows.

It is kinda funny that we're all rooting for a Jedilorian but characters keep telling Mando that Grogu will have to choose - the armorer, both Jedi. And then he lets Grogu choose. I hate it but it's all playing out exactly like they said it would! Real bold would be if they show him throwing the chainmail into the lake and forgetting Mando. I would absolutely hate it and love it.

If they want me to be on board with Grogu throwing away personal attachments, I'm going to need to see some real convincing arguments for it from Luke.

I mean his dad did kinda kill almost every Jedi and brought down the Republic over a chick so...

Does Grogu know that? What's Luke relationship like with his sister right now?

I'm not so sure the Marshall is dead. Looked like a shoulder shot to me.

Also, when Grogu was remembering his past, why was it so easy for a handful of storm troopers to kill jedis with blasters? That seemed strange.

Yeah who knows what in-universe people think of it (although they specifically brought up Luke's dad so I think that's a hint). I'd almost say the audience is supposed to understand that if he tried to pick both, he's basically picking the dark side.

If that's the context, then really Luke is giving him the option to either pick the dark side and not be as dangerous as a trained Jedi, or pick the light side and train him.

I hope we see them dive into this moral quandary. I think it's really interesting.

Also, still no Boba lol

Loved this episode. Great to see Luke training Grogu, Cobb Vanth's return was fantastic, and Cad Bane in the flesh was exactly what I wanted.

Only hope we can get some more bounty hunters for the finale. Gotta think the Syndicate has more than just Cad Bane on its side.

I assume you mean Cobb Vanth is dead?

He aint dead. Totally a shot in the shoulder and only one, Cad left him alive for a reason, unlike shooting the deputy like 5 times.

Thinking on it further, it wouldn't make sense character-wise for that to be the case, seeing how he was still dead-set on the no attachments thing when training Ben.

I do agree that it seemed a bit early to make him have such a huge decision. But I guess they need a way to have Grogu added back into the fold for S3.

I mean we see plenty of Jedi get gunned down by clone troopers in ROTS.

Not everyone is a Skywalker, and if you have 10 troopers shooting at you, there's only so much you can do.

If I didn't think my wife would kill me for it, I'd go pull my Grogu fan out of school right now and bring her home to watch that glorious piece of television.

Got a lot of nostalgia this episode with Ahsoka and Luke conversation, and Grogu's flashback. Luke, Cad ****ing Bane, Cobb Vanth, and more Pyke syndicate stuff is always welcome. Hoping we see Boba actually do something in the finale.

These last two episodes have really setup Mando S3 and now Ahsoka.

Almost Marvel MCU-ish? Where one show spins off into several others?

With all the cross over I almost wish they would have everything that is in this time period under one banner name vs separate shows. The different intersecting story lines is very similar to the way "The Clone Wars" series was done. That would cut down on the complaints about BOBF vs Mandalorian vs Ahsoka complaints.

Totally missed that. Well either way Bane is a bad mofo. But in that case they totally just threw in a hothead to yap for a few minutes and then got blown away like nothing. Sheesh

Yeah, kind of. It really has me asking at what Boba is doing right now. We don't see anymore arriving to help Boba deal with the Pykes. In fact in the last two episodes, this was the first really dealing with any progression of the Syndicate v Boba and it happened at the end of the episode. I'm kind of wishing this was 8 episodes instead of 7 just to give Boba more of a reason for being. I mean, it's possible the finale ends up being 2 hours.

I have really enjoyed the last two episodes, but the show's title character wasn't in episode 5 and only appeared in episode 6.

Maybe this sounds crazy....but could the Pike war storyline leak into Mando season 3? TBOBF has blurred the Mando/Boba line to where this would not surprise me.

Huh. Ok so I didn't even take a second to consider the name. Are they setting up a plot device to create a "syndicate of the week" show where he has to address some problem in his kingdom? I kinda like that idea, but full disclosure I also liked the episodes of Agents of Shield where they bickered about classification levels and paperwork and Agent protocol.

Well, I was mostly being a smart-ass, but I've contended all year that The Book of Boba Fett suggests a long story, not just a single season where he becomes Boss Man of Tatooine. This might just be the jumping off point for a show that sees him into a major crime lord or something entirely different. I'd love a future season to be just one big bounty chase or him hunting someone down or something lifted from some of the Legends novels where he started having physical problems and chase down one of the Kaminoan cloners to help him out. The Book of Boba Fett could refer to lots of events that eventually tie in to what makes Boba Fett who he is by the end of the series, including whatever is going on for Luke, Grogu, and Ahsoka.

Or it's just a pamphlet about why your taxes go to the Boba Fett Appraisal District and the locals just derisively call it "The Book of Boba Fett"

Either that or they plan on a season 2 where Boba and the Syndicate actually fight? Like, the Pikes ain't giving up after 1 episode long battle
