I feel like it's gonna be structured as a two part finale, with a cliffhanger in the middle.

Just caught up, slowly so I've been kind of replicating the weekly experience with recap videos but staying off here and social media. I'm sure there are a lot of quibbles with this show, but I think it's peak Star Wars. Good writing, great acting, good directing, great sets and effects.

I still dislike the fact that Disney has decided that all the shows have to play in the little sandbox between the movies, and mostly focus on backstories. This of course does that, but at least unlike the last 6 films it's cohesive and competent.

I really hope Disney can move outside the box at sometime. If they can't make a good follow up to RoSW (which seems unlikely) let's get away from all 9 of the movies. Its a galaxy with millions of years of history.

Really curios to see how they handle Mando/Grogu, if at all, in these last two episodes.

As much as I loved last week's episode, it was weird to see Mando journey all the way Tatooine, get recruited, but then be like, "Sorry, gotta go see about my little friend first."

So, with only two episodes left, are we going to see him LEAVE Tatooine, presumably do the whole Luke/Grogu meeting, then go BACK to Tatooine yet again and join the fight?

Or - as the video I posted last night speculates - do we pick up with the Boba/Fennec/whoever else Tatooine fight, Mando eventually joins in late in the episode, and then we backfill the Luke/Grogu meeting that took place in between, in episode one of Mando S3?

Either way, this thing continues to be so weirdly structured.

They can't show it. He shows up for the fight, says he did his thing and then we wait a year to see if it's in Season 3.

You get a fully restored Nubian star fighter and see if you don't want to immediately take it for a spin around the galaxy.

That's pretty much my thoughts which I posted last week.

I think Luke/Grogu happens offscreen and then we see it in S3.

Speaking of the droid pod/Grogu idea…how did Luke get Grogu back to Ireland in an X-Wing?

Also, I couldn't agree more with that video on the aspect of needing to see more politics in the ST. We needed to see the new Senate actually functioning before it was destroyed. Give us a sense of the political state of the galaxy. Make us CARE when the capital is destroyed. Pretty sure I made that complaint even at the time, but as a prequel fan that kind of comment gets dismissed or ridiculed.

Anyway sorry for the derail. That's all I've got to say about that.
They could easily do a series with Leia trying to navigate the political waters after the formation of the New Republic if they were willing to recast Leia and bring back Alden Ehrenreich to play Han. Half the Legends books are about some political uprising she has to try to stop while being stabbed in the back by Bothans and trying to avoid being assassinated.
We need to move on from the Original Trilogy characters.

This is a bad opinion.

Would be really interesting if Mando comes back from his errand and he's pissed as hell or rageful and just is a non-stop MFer during the ensuing battle, then we're left waiting 3/4ths of a year wondering what happened that made him so pissed off when he tried to visit Grogu.

Closing on our new house tomorrow morning, so I can't stay up all night nor watch it immediately after dumping the kids at school. This adulting **** sucks.

I'm convinced this movie is the reason Lucas decided to call stuff from Naboo Nubian.

Chasing Amy. The first 10-15 minutes is vintage Kevin Smith Star Wars humor, then it tricks you by turning into a chick flick.

Thank you. I knew Mallrats didn't feel quite right in my head. I've probably seen Chasing Amy almost as much as Clerks but I completely forgot about it.

I agree, just recast all the characters with good actors and quality writing and people would adjust very quickly. Doing it well is the part Disney has tended to struggle with, unfortunately.
You dont even have to have them all in any movie or show you do, but that period of time is very interesting.

I would like to see movies in the universe that have nothing to do with that main storyline though or only tangentially.
This would have been Rogue Squadron, and hopefuilly still will be.

My approach is to pretend the last episode didnt exist, other than I know Mando is on Tattoine now.
Expecting the same level of show from before, so if it turns out to be good it will seem great.

I think Mando and Grogu in Mandalorian armor appear in the fight and then backfill in season 1.

With the amount they teased Grogu, he has to appear in the last two episodes. If for no other reason to sell Mandalorian Grogu merch this spring and summer.

Honestly, I was kinda digging this midlife crisis low-key Boba Fett they were working and developed. It kinda mirrored some things in my life I was going through. Changing jobs working to get established in a new place, being task with mentoring younger employees, dealing with former coworkers in an adversarial way (went to a competitor), and rearranging life priorities. It was oddly relatable in an abstract way. So the show worked for me while I completely understand why it didn't for others.

This last episode has completely thrown me for a loop on what the heck they are trying to do. It was awesome, but felt so out of place that it completely destroyed the admittedly thin and slow story that they were developing and left the rest of the show feeling completely unmoored and unnecessary. Like we had four episodes of filler because Disney needed something for its streaming service.

I hope he got roasted in the replies

edit: oh right...he "gets it." My ass he does. I'm not sure very many people working for Disney/Lucasfilm get anything about Star Wars, outside of Filoni (and he's not perfect)
