I think he wanted a ride and knew the mechanic was a better shot at helping him out than anyone on Nevaro.

But his covert was at Nevaro, which would have been a better "soul-searching" place for him.

But that doesn't move the Boba Fett story forward.

Now that Mando is basically disowned from his extreme Mandalorian cult, he can do a bunch of stuff. He can go find Gina, Olyphant, Apollo, Bill Burr, the hot villager lady who wanted to have his babies, Asohka, Luke, and Grogu. He can do whatever he wants and take off his helmet and party.
They gave us the impression he is going to go to Mandalore and try to get to those waters beneath the destroyed mines, whatever that means.

I think it definitely ends with him realizing he needs to move on, but who knows.

Anyone wonder if the armorer was setting him up? Oftly convenient that she melts down his beskar spear right before he fights a dude in beskar.

One interesting point to consider -- Ben Solo would be around 4-5 during this time, which means he might have just started training with Luke. If we see Luke and Grogu, we might see a youngling Ben.

That Beskar spear never really melted much when she put it into the flames.

It's weird when you read something that's spelled so bad, yet works, that you have a stroke trying to figure out the proper spelling.

Ben doesn't start his training with Luke until around his 10th birthday (15 ABY)

Wow, really?

So after such a stink was made about Anakin being too old at 8 or 9 or whenever in TPM, and he goes on to basically prove the haters right and scourge an entire galaxy, his daughter and Han with Ben were just like, "Eh, what's the worst that could happen?"

I know half that episode was fanservice, but damn it was awesome. Not really sure how he's gonna carry bounties in the N-1, but still... maybe a top 3 Mando episode.

If he empties out his torpedo bay, I could see him fitting a couple frozen normal sized bodies there.

And if he needs a bigger ship, I'm sure the writers will crash the N1, and have another vintage car restoration episode. Maybe one of those Imperial shuttles?

Again, personally, I think Mando's bounty hunting days are behind him. Everything is pointing to a new path for him going forward.

That said, I heard an idea today on a podcast that I kind of liked, which is that Mando could eventually get a newer, bigger Razor Crest that can house the N-1. So he has both, and can use the N-1 when needed...

Something else they talked about on the same podcast - The Midnight Boys on The Ringer Network - was a cool idea that both Mando AND Grogu could essentially choose their own path and establish some kind of new hybrid sect that pulls from both the Jedi and Mandalorian traditions. They brought up an interesting point in that both the Jedi and The Children of the Watch (Mando's extremist clan) are all about various forms of detachment. Yet we can already see, especially in this latest episode, that Mando is increasingly diverging from his clan's worldview/beliefs. And perhaps Grogu will do the same with Luke/the Jedi, if only because we know Mando and Grogu will see each other again, almost assuredly in season three, and that reunion could very well cause some sort rift between Grogu and Luke/the Jedi, since Grogu would be giving into attachment once more. Or, even better, maybe Luke recognizes that the old Jedi ways are flawed, and allows Grogu and Mando to be reunited/establish their own path/sect goin forward.

However it might happen, I just really like this idea of the Mando/Grogu bond - the most unlikely of pairings - ultimately acting as the catalyst for a new worldview/sect that mixes aspects of the Jedi and the Mandalorians, wherein attachment is embraced, there's no helmet-always-on nonsense, etc. In screenwriting, the traditional hero's journey always starts out in anti-thesis (in this case, attachment is bad, helmet is always on, Mando's lone bounty hunter mentality, etc), moves into the thesis (leaves the ideas of the anti-thesis behind, begins to embrace attachment, takes his helmet off every so often, is no longer quite the same loner, etc), and then, in act three, realizes synthesis, wherein the hero forges a completely new path, one that takes what good there was in the thesis and melds it with what he's learned in the anti-thesis to form a new way of being. And this particular idea would fit that hero's journey to a tee.

Various comics and novels from the ST era construct a timeline. They also opted not to tell him about his relationship to Vader until he got older, then he found it out from a different source. Most of the lit casts Han and Leia as parents who worked too hard and didn't spend enough time at home.

Perhaps Han and Leia were more familiar with what they had just seen - a snot-nosed farm-boy with no knowledge of the Force at the time they met him, roughly age 20, who then went on to take down the Empire. So if Luke could do it, then so too could Ben.

I thought he removed his helmet only in front of a droid so he wouldn't die. I guess that still counts. Or did he do it with Grogu at the end of season two? Sorry, memory is hazy.

He removed it at the end of S2 to tell Grogu goodbye. He also removed it on that imperial base with Bill Burr.
