Much better episode, I hope the last 3 make up for the bad start.

Btw, his female counterpart is a terrible actress. I either laugh or cringe anytime she says anything.
You can take this opinion and get out of this thread. No one hates on Ming Na Wen and gets away with it.

The character is stale. I'm not sure if it is her or the writing.

Last night's episode was another meh. Had its moments, but like everyone else seems to be saying, this series is just not working per the established standards for Star Wars.

One complaint I have is that they seem to be bringing in familiar Earth stuff to this. Such as the establishment that Fett took the injured gal to be worked on. My first impression was, what is this a tattoo parlor? They even had a black fellow with dreadlocks and some gal getting worked on.

I do agree on some level that Jennifer Beals' place does not necessarily have to be a place of scum and villainy, but she feels a bit out of place. She's supposed to be a Twi'lek, but she looks like the hottie that she is just wearing a headpiece.

The two things I've enjoyed the most in this series was the Lawrence of Arabia scene when the Tuskens attacked the train, and last night when Boba strafed the speeder bikes with the SLAVE ONE (f'you to anyone who thinks that name should be changed, it will always be SLAVE ONE).
Yea, Slave One making it's attack approach in the background was a sweet shot

I guess it's slightly clever to tie the robotic gang back to how he saved her. They mention the robot parts in Mando but I was too distracted by the dumb Vespas to remember that droid parts were in Fennec.

Also I liked seeing redacted ship name doing its thing. Mowing down overmatched bikers and slicing the sarlacc in half were high points.

Better episode, thanks.

Yeah, not sure if it's her or the writing, but she and/or her character is just terrible.

He ripped the Trandoshan's arm off b/c they are known tom hunt Wookiees. Hence as he got drunker, he got angrier watching the Trandoshans having fun and being loud. Also, the Trandoshan in question will be fine as they can regrow appendages that they lose, like certain reptiles.

Since Black Krrsantan has worked with Boba before and Boba released him, he wouldn't have much of a beef against Boba.

Honestly I am loving the show. I get some of the issues with it but to me, it's fun and great for expanding the criminal element of the SW Universe.

Black Krrsantan getting angry at the lizard people made sense based on his past experiences with them. I only knew that from watching the following video earlier this week. Without seeing that I can see how it seemed out of place for anyone (like me) that has just seen the non-animated movies/shows or didn't read expanded universe material.

Am I the only person who had no idea who Jennifer Beals is? Everyone keeps talking about her like she's Jennifer Anniston but looking at her CV Flashdance and Book of Eli looked like the only two things I've heard of.

I'm with you. It had a couple eye-rolling parts (like the slow speed Vespa chase) but other than that my wife and I are having a lot of fun watching this and look forward to every Wednesday night.

If it wasn't for me following this thread, I'd have no idea that people thought so poorly of it.

It's a fun watch but it's also pretty silly. Which I guess fits the overall tone of the Star Wars universe, but not the Rogue One/Mando side which seems to be more serious in nature.

If you saw Flashdance back in the day then you know. She was a big deal.

I don't know who she is, but I do know her cleavage was probably the best part of the episode.

Looks like Ryan has echoed the thoughts on this thread that the flashbacks were a bad idea and if done in chronological order would have provided more weight to Boba's motivations:

Not gonna lie, when Slave I was coming up on the biker gang, I was hoping Boba was gonna drop a seismic charge and blow them all to hell in one fell swoop with the most badass sounding bomb in the galaxy.

Episode 4 much better. Show is getting on track. Loved when the Mandalorian music came on.

Also this show will not be complete until mando is riding a bright colored Vespa speeder bike.

Ok I really like this guys takes on stuff but most of what's in this video is nearly identical to the other one above…..EXCEPT for one thing…..

Near the end of the video there's some music that played during the credits that show the artist drawings that apparently elude to the Solo movie when they first encounter Crimson Dawn….check it out!

This ep redeemed a lot after last weeks train wreck (speeder wreck?).

Enjoyed him going to recruit the Wookie and the scene in the bar preceding it, and his negotiation dinner was pretty entertaining (though I had hopes he'd just trap door all of them and be done with it.

I feel/hope we're heading towards some interesting stories, IMDb lists the same director for next week so he apparently took an episode from someone if that's accurate. Was supposed to be Rodriguez directing 3 eps and Bryce Dallas Howard, Filoni, Kevin Tancharoen (who did this last ep), and Steph Green (another tv director) with one each.

That's pretty cool. I say Qi'ra shows up at some point in the next three episodes as the mastermind behind this whole thing. Maybe at the end of the penultimate episode?

Since I couldn't remember exactly where the characters left off, save for Luke/Grogu, in preparation for next week's Boba episode I rewatched a good chunk of the Mando S2 finale, for the first time since it originally aired, and man does it make Boba feel claustrophobic in comparison. It still had the same, stilted dialogue I remember, but the space travel, the ships, the planet hopping, the action… it all just makes Boba feel so small and contained and just not Star Warsy at all. That said, it'd be cool if we get at least a little of that back next week and actually follow Mando from wherever he is to Tatooine, but I doubt they go that route (no pun intended).

I also rewatched the official behind-the-scenes piece for Andor, which features a bit of footage, but a ton of set building and concept art and that show is going to dwarf everything so far in terms of scale, scope, and cinematography. It just looks so massive and movie-like and I can't wait.

Additionally, in the 1st episode they showed one of the leader Trandoshans offering Boba some Wookie fur that I assume they hunted and skinned.

It's going to be a twist next week and the "muscle" will be Grogu in full Mandalorian Combat armor.

I said this to my wife too. "If only they had some kind of autonomous scanning device for this exact situation. They definitely didn't just one IN THE SCENE IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO THIS ONE."

Well you ****ers have lured me back in. Fennec obviously didn't know WTF Fett was doing at the Sarlaac pit. She's not going to potentially waste her extremely cool hardware shoving it down the gullet of a giant monster for the sake of a guy she's known for 48 hours, especially since she already got square with him by getting MODIFIED FIRESPRAY SHIP back.

So the Rancor can reach all the way to the ceiling of the pit. Suckers grown. And very nice of him to be quiet until the exact perfect timing. Well trained!

Overall, I did think it was a better episode. It felt like it could have been episode 1. They still could have worked in the Tusken back story.

And, Jennifer Beals... thank you for your contributions to the Star Wars universe.

Pretty sure I can guess who Boobie Feaster's favorite Star Wars character is… (cross-reference: Aggie football recruiting).

I don't want to get my hopes up, but imagine the muscle is Mando with the dark saber, plus Bo Katan and her 2 followers, and a **** load of other Mandos from Season 1, like that guy that was 9 feet tall.

But even Mando and Boba fighting side by side is going to be pretty bad ass if it comes to pass.

or it's a triple twist, and the muscle he hires is Han and Chewie.

And since I'm back on the discussion now, should we just assume that Bossk was like the Manute Bol of Trandosshans? That guy was 7 feet tall and everyone else from the race has been a midget.
