Seems like an odd comment. Wouldn't an actor want to be in a movie with a great script?

IF a JP script is great, the actors are unimportant.

Powell had to be convinced by Cruise to join Top Gun: Maverick. Powell originally auditioned for Rooster, and when he didn't get it he didn't want a smaller part. Still, they wanted him enough that Cruise and McQuarry told him they'd expand the Hangman role, yet Powell was still hesitant. It was only after Cruise convinced him like only Cruise can that Powell finally agreed to be in the movie.

More so even now, Powell is in leading-man-or-bust mode, and with Johansson likely taking top billing here, I'm sure Powell simply didn't want to play second fiddle.

When you turn down a role that has you fighting dinosaurs and doing mouth stuff with ScarJo, I question everything about you.

Has there ever been a scene in an JP/JW movie where a human fires a regular round at a dinosaur?

Doesn't Grant have Muldoon's rifle when the Raptors try to bust in the control room in the first one?

Although I know nothing about ammo, so I don't know what a regular round constitutes.

I guess I should have said any type of ammunition other than a tranq. I remember a handful of guns, but I honestly can't remember anyone actually firing on or hitting a dinosaur

I'm really not asking for a breakdown of all their virtues. The were able to score Joel McHale and the Asian kid from Glee, what a coup!

Basically a who's who of whoever's able to start filming next month, haha. That, and I'm sure they broke the bank for Johansson, which means less money to go around for the rest of the cast. W're asking studios to start spending less on blockbusters, so they're not so dependent on opening weekend, there's more money to go around for other projects, etc, this is what's going to look like from time to time.

It's a Franchi SPAS12 shotgun. (Italian). How could you mistake a shotgun shell (which he clearly loaded, and Grant) with a rifle cartridge?

Granted that scene is not the best but you did attend A&M right? You're really from Texas?

as noted above, he read the script and noped. These films are ridiculous and you and I have had some good laughs about the last two.

He's got Twister this summer. He's set. He's on his way.

Yeah, I mostly hated the last three movies, save for a few fun moments here and there, but those were from a completely different creative team. Whereas this one is from David Koepp, the writer of the original movie, returning alongside Spielberg, who's way more hands on than he's been, overseeing the director of Godzilla and Rogue One. To that end, there really does seem to be a genuine excitement among the creatives involved that this one has the juice, is different from/better than the last trilogy, etc. Maybe it does end up sucking, but either way it's clear the lead role wasn't written for a man, so for now, all things considered, I'm sticking with Powell simply not wanting to play second fiddle (in a role that ended up going to a Bridgerton dude) rather than the script sucking.

I greatly enjoyed World because of how that was the first Jurassic movie we'd gotten in 14 years at the time.

I enjoyed Fallen Kingdom at the time but it doesn't hold up well with repeated viewings. Gorgeous cinematography, though.

Dominion ... that ****ing abortion was what we got for the grand finale? And it came in 2022, same year as the 5-7 Aggie Football season. Two all-time disappointments. And it annoys the **** out of me that a large portion of the Jurassic fanbase continues to defend Dominion. How TF do you downgrade from the writers of Rise of the Planet of the Apes to the writer of Pacific Rim: Uprising and think that's a good idea, Trevorrow?

I rolled my eyes when the new one got announced but I do like that they brought back the OG David Koepp and gave him a great director in Gareth Edwards.

Rebirth? I have only seen the last movie twice, so perhaps I missed the part where all the dinosaurs roaming freely in North America were killed?
TCTTS

"Rebirth" could mean anything, and the whole dinosaurs-roaming-freely-in-North-America thing is almost assuredly part of the plot.

If you're referring specifically to an attempt to try and re-open Jurassic World the amusement park, I don't think that's what this means at all. I think we're far past that.

If I had to guess, maybe the planet itself is on its way to being "reborn" as a "Jurassic world." (Actually, "Jurassic World Reborn" sounds way better than "Jurassic World Rebirth.") Either way, maybe the dinosaurs are getting too out of hand, and perhaps this is the beginning of a new, post-apocalyptic-like trilogy. I don't know, something along those lines...
