If you have a loss right now but believe in the stock long term you can book a loss right now for tax purposes and buy back in in 30 days. If you don't think the stock is going to move much or if you think it will lose more share price then sell it. Of course there is a chance the stock blows up while you are on the sidelines. That's the risk you take.
Wash sale question - say you sell tomorrow at a loss in a fidelity account. And then bought back in from an etrade or Robinhood account. Would they be able to flag as a wash sale?

Well both of these stock have fallen drastically. How rare are rare earth metals because it doesn't seem to move the needle much if at all.

Hopefully the craziness will blow over. Dow plummeting. GME, Reddit might be fouling up stuff again.
But this could end badly. Some people on other boards seem to think BMIX could go below $0.01 . . . that would certainly help me reduce my $0.07 position.

That's what I am hearing too. Apparently these stocks have been victims of fake news about shortages in any of these metals. Further, BMIX doesn't even have a business license. But I can't sell at a loss no matter how major of one it would be. I am trying to convince myself that this is just a 2-3 year play and BMIX did announce opening up 4 new mines but if there is not demand then it doesn't matter.

Definitely a possibility. BMIX was $0.0009 as late as December. ABML was $0.20 in the same timeframe.

Here - in his absence I'll help.
BMIX is flat/up today and trading in an ok range for the month after a little sell off. It's a high risk position and you could make a big gain or a big loss. Don't invest more than you can afford. Stop being a big titty baby.
Anyone getting out of ABML? Other boards consensus is not looking promising...
