If Hunter's on the board I'll mortgage my house to buy more.
I feel like if I reveal that, I'll be attacked once again. I'll just say that its a good chunk of my stock portfolio, which is not balanced like your Grandpa recommends. I do own several other kinds of assets however.BoDog said:
I am late to the party but have binge read this thread. I am beyond intrigued at this point. HoustonAggie, if you dont mind me asking, what percentage of your trading portfolio are these two stocks? Everything is relative but 250k of a 5mm portfolio for example maybe isnt that crazy....
I hear you. I have ignored the hate because they have disappeared, and the staff took some of the posts down I think. I made the mistake of posting my email, and the people who had it were mostly just asking for help, but one guy threatened to call my firm and tell them I was day trading while at work. So you can understand why I'm cautious. I want to help people, and in addition, this is causing me to stay involved, keep researching, etc. I feel like I owe it to people to keep advising.BoDog said:
No that wasn't my point. I am 110% behind what you are doing and admire your commitment. Ignore the haters.

Biden talked on climate today. Just reinforced that we needed more US mining and EV vehicles. Very positive news but overshadowed by GME scandal.

Not to derail, but I assume there is no way to PM you? Off topic, I would love to get some career advise from you to pass along to my college age son. He is sort of all over the place in the world of finance but I think his ambition is ultimately very similar to what you do for your hedge fund. He really doesn't have much interest in being a Trader.
As I posted on the politics board, ABML is backed by some very heavy hitters, and the composition of the board will be eye opening once the company name change and uplist are complete. Pelosi is Nancy's son, and was just an advisor and a name to raise money I'm sure. Melsert is the talent.BoDog said:
Paul Pelosi is in on this? Well hell, that is all you needed to say. Funding my account in the morning.
The patents thing I am curious about - their prospectus filed recently said clearly that they hold no patents.HoustonAggie37713 said:
I couldn't disagree more, and my holdings show that.
This "small start up with limited resources" has a market cap of $1.58 billion.
1. Patents, permits, and land to recycle and mine lithium
2. A board of highly connected people, talented techies, and former Tesla execs
3. Favorable political winds.
By all means you should avoid it. And please come back in a year. I'll be here.
Agree with this. As previously mentioned, I took a flyer on this last week and am definitely up in my position. However, Houston has indicated they hold 10s of patents a few times and this is in direct conflict with their prospectus. I'd like to see a source for this claim.GE said:The patents thing I am curious about - their prospectus filed recently said clearly that they hold no patents.HoustonAggie37713 said:

It does say that have internally developed technology and a recycling process so maybe patents pending?NTXAg10 said:Agree with this. From what I can find, it's not Paul Pelosi, Nancy's husband, that got named to Oroplata's (now ABML) Advisory Board, it's Paul Pelosi, Jr., who is Nancy and Paul Sr.'s son.
Furthermore, that was back in 2016, and the most recent news I can find about Paul Pelosi, Jr.'s involvement in the Lithium industry today, is him being named to the Advisory Board of Altair International in Dec of 2020, which appears to be a fairly direct competitor to ABML.
Is there anything besides a Yahoo profile to back up the claim that Paul Pelosi, Jr. is still on the Advisory board of ABML? Because if not, it would seem to me that he has left ABML in favor of Altair International.

While it may be possible to be on multiple boards, it is uncommon for one person to be on the board of two companies that are competitors. It's bad governance as there is no way that person could effectively represent the interests of both groups of shareholders.
