England's belief on their place in the world soccer order and their actual place in the world soccer order is almost Tennessee football like. Until those two things come back into line I revel in games like this.

My relationship with English football is an odd one. I immediately became a fan through familial ties (distant 2nd to USMNT of course), but the majority of English fans and media then slowly turned me into a hater who immensely enjoys the schadenfreude when they lose, yet I still want to see those family members experience the immense joy of watching England win.

I am in a perpetual state of simultaneous love and hate when it comes to England. It's weird.

I'm in a similar boat. My wife is English and supports England (and the US). All of her family is still in England (although generally they are scousers and don't care about England as much). I follow England watch most of their games but there's a little schaudenfreude for when they England it up.

We're going to be in portugal this summer for a family wedding that is on the day of the Euro final. Will be interesting if they're in it. I don't think they will be.

my favorite squad in Euros has no chance - Scotland.

I think I'll be cheering for 'not France' in the final. They seem to have the second best odds to win it after England.

Germany vs. Scotland to kick things off tomorrow.

Spain vs. Croatia on Saturday appears to be the match of the day.

Serbia vs. England on Sunday likely to grab the headlines, but I'm looking forward to Poland vs. Netherlands.

I have no real ties to any of the squads, but will be watching every match I am able to.

I think I might actually root for England due to some of their young players. I really enjoy Bellingham, Foden, Saka and Trent.

My pick to win it all is Portugal. As talented as anyone and I expect them to put it together and make a run.

Like every Euro, I'll root for Germany. Really happy Kroos came back.

But if it's not going to be them, I want Croatia to somehow pull it off and get a trophy before Modric retires. Or at the very least make another deep run. Just making it out of that group will be hard.

On the flip side, I hope CR7 drama sinks Portugal and they don't make it out of group.

Irn-Bru has some excellent marketing. It also happens to be my favorite drink in the world. I even have an Irn-Bru tattoo. For the record, I am actually Scottish (have my UK passport). My mom was born in Glasgow and I spent my summers all over Scotland as a kid.



Although I don't expect Scotland to go far, I'll be wearing my kilt to watch the match today. Trying to decide if I should go to a local sports bar to do so. Optimism is Back!
