disappointing.
tactics in the final few minutes were befuddling. get the ball to an advanced position, immediately pass back to backline and attempt long ball from midfield. Force ball down wings and throw wild crosses into box despite not having anybody who's got a realistic chance at getting a header.

We will be just fine, if not better, without JT this weekend. The guy has been a thorn in the clubs side & his racism, kneeing & negative publicity is starting to take a toll on the club and its fans (me!)...

Terry might have lost a step defensively, but he's anything but a thorn in his club's side. And if the fans were wearing thin with him, why did they chant "There's only one England Captain" and cheer every time Terry touched the ball against Wolves?

Okay, I may have jumped the gun on my Terry comments, but his issues over the past 3 years have been nothing short of embarrassing. Not to mention all of the other shenanigans during his time at Chelsea. I wasn't really speaking on behalf of all the Chelsea fans, but mainly just myself...hints the (me!).
The Wayne Bridge incident, the alleged racial abuse of Anton & then the blatant kneeing of another player in a CL semi are all negative publicity that the club doesn't need, especially from it's captain IMO.
Do I like Terry as player, yes. He's a little dirty but who isn't. Do I like him as a person, not so much. Especially if half the **** he has done is true.

I know you weren't asking me, but I think he's an idiot and pure scum. I think he can still play a little, but he loses the plot a little more often than he used too. He's showing some of his age in his movement, but hasn't entirely learned to play within his "new" abilities. I can't help but feel bad for John Terry. Most of that "off the pitch" stuff could have happened to anyone. Especially what happened with Ms. Bridge.
I suppose that anyone could have pulled the stunts Terry has allegedly pulled, but there's way too much smoke for me to feel sorry for him.
I don't feel sorry for him, but most of the off the pitch stuff doesn't mean squat. Gerrard, Rooney, Cole, hell, the whole English team has a checkered off the pitch reputation.
On the pitch is what matters, and on the pitch JT has always been a world-class CB and phenomenal leader. Yeah, he plays a little dirty, but every successful team has a guy like that, and that's part of what endeared him to the fans.
As I said, he's obviously lost a step, so the question becomes how do you gracefully transition away from Terry if you're Chelsea. The man defined the club for so long, you don't want a messy divorce or to see him suiting up for a different EPL club. Your best hope is to try and convince him to retire/join coaching and hope he doesn't want to Brett Favre it.

How's that working out for the English national team?
On the pitch matters, bit he seems to keep himself on the pitch less and less these days. He's phasing himself out of the lineup, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Still a good player, so maybe hes still worth the uncertainty

I think what others have said sum up my opinion of him. Off the pitch, he is pretty much scum, but that does seem to float around the English National team for whatever reason. Alledgely cheating on a teammate's gf/wife and now the racist stuff is pretty damning to me.
As for on the pitch, guy was a hell of a CB in his prime. Great defender and could grab a goal off set pieces as well. I haven't watched Chelsea much this year, but last year he looked to be a step slow, so I'm sure that hasn't changed this year. Still an above average CB but no longer top of the line like he was.
I wish our rivals hated Terry because he was good. Kind of like how Astro's fans hate Albert Pujols ya know.

funny...all those guys you mentioned are pieces of ****. And Terry is a huge piece of ****. Just because there are other pieces of **** on the field too doesnt make it OK to be a piece of ****. I dont hate Terry because hes good, i hate him cuz hes a piece of ****.
