Chelsea dodged a bullet there...I dont know how that didnt go in, and I dont know how the PK wasnt called on the rebound. That was a pretty blatant late desperate challenge.

Essien to Real Madrid. With Romeu on a season long loan, that puts us in a much shorter supply as far as CDMs go. Hopefully the season doesn't take a big toll on them.

Damn, too bad about Essien. There were talks of him going to Arsenal as well. I only got to see the first thirty minutes from today's match. Ivanovic looked god awful. Did we create more chances in the second half?

As a Madrid fan who really only saw much of Essien back in the older era Chelsea CL teams what's he been looking like lately?

Is he a more defensive presence in the midfield than he has been in the past? Can he also shift down to defense if necessary?

Tremble, Essian has been playing more of a holding role these past two years. He's an ok tackler, but injuries have taken their toll. He is SLOW now. I have no idea how he's going to crack reals lineup.

I always thought he was solid but he's getting older. Just an AVB signing that wasn't going to get the minutes under rdm.

The attack looked awful today. Was Mata given the day off? Lamp's touches were poor. Torres was a non factor. The only bright spot was Moses.

Frustrating result but I will take it. The ref lost control of the game & missed a few clear PKs. Either way I am happy to remain undefeated and I will take a point on the road at QPR. Hopefully JT isn't hurt, we'll no more tomorrow.

Bright spot was definitely Moses. Sturridge looked good too in limited minutes. Torres was dreadful. I'm not a huge fan of Bertrand and Ramirez on the pitch at the same time on the wings as I feel it costs us a bit of possession and creativity. Resting Mata is important as last year showed.

Who is going to give Lamps and Mikel a break in the holding roles? Would have liked to keep Mireles for that role.

Non-call on Hazard pk foul was huge, but still ok with result.
