The Alien's Land Dedicated server that we've been on is shutting down in a couple of days.
Everyone should go to an obelisk and upload/save their character ASAP, and then we will join a new server. I think we should join an official server (even though the player traffic is much higher), as those servers will (hopefully) be more stable.

After that bull **** wipe on the PVP/PVP Hardcore servers I quit playing. I advise against going to an official server because of all the whiners and griefers.

The dinos did not in fact escape. We took them to the obelisk to upload them, as apparently you can upload dinos as well as characters!
Once we find a new server to migrate to, we should be able to download both our characters and our dinos.

This was my place on Official 33 server. I called it the Turtle. I was hoping to be able to upgrade the wood to stone but instead it got wiped.

The opening was made into a metal hatch way and hatch door so when I gotten enough metal ingots and cementing paste I could go underneath to change the pillars to metal. After that all that would have been left was to cover the metal walls with a metal ceiling.

Im also a stocker on here. Y'all crack me up and I enjoy following the updates.
Bad morning for me, got a little too crazy attacking a dilo and killed my parasaur. Was going after another to tame when 3 dilos show up all lvl 70+. Attacking them, trike proc'd on me, killed two dilos and started on the trike. He charged and knocked me back.....and over the cliff that was behind me.

When are they shutting down the Alien's Land Dedicated server. I haven't been able to get on in a few days to upload my character. Do I still have time?

That said, I can probably catch up to where I was pretty quickly. I haven't exactly spent that much time in-game. I would like to save my pet dodo though.

About the server wipe though, they did say they hope to never have to do that again. They didn't really want to in the first place from what I understand.

AlienPoo (server admin) can transfer us, with all of our gear, over to the new server and place us in the same location. He cannot do this if your character is uploaded. Our base will not be there, but we can load up our inventory with supplies to start the new one. We will have to reform the tribe.

Oh, meaning we'll be moved to the PVP server. Not real excited about that. I'd rather enjoy the game and 'story' than worry about constant attacks and battles.

Our tribe on PvP is the largest (Texas Aggies) and no one messes with us so we are free do do whatever we want. We're building up the "town" around base, making each of our own houses.

I since upgraded my card to a 960, and found it's a really beautiful game. My PC still doesn't have the best specs (Phenom x2 965 @ 3.4 GHz, 8 gb of ram), but it runs great with the graphics on high with no trouble with the GTX 960 installed.
That said, I don't know how any of that translates to a macbook. You could post your specs and someone more knowledgeable than I can probably help.
On the Steam Store they also list the system requirements:
- OS: 64-Bit Windows 7 Service Pack 1, or Windows 8
- Processor: 2 GHz Dual-Core 64-bit CPU
- Memory: 4000 MB RAM
- Graphics: DirectX10 Compatible GPU with 1 GB Video RAM
- DirectX: Version 10

I read they are releasing the game for Mac platforms on June 30, so you may want to check it out then. If you can't run it at a point where it's playable, Steam offers refunds within two weeks of purchase and less than two hours of playtime: http://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds/
Edit: check your hard drive space also - this game takes up quite a bit of space (looks like the system requirement is 20 gigabytes), and while I'm used to that not being an issue in a PC I'd build, Mac is probably a bit more stingy about handing out hard drives.
Made it to level 21 and 11:30 PM last night when Jtbru told me about this wipe.
