Reading back through the messages I'm taking notes on who NOT to allow to take out a dino, looking at you EyeGuy.

I think we are good on cementing paste due to our "expedition". Crystal is definitely a need but other than that I'm just going to replace my house with reinforced wood.

I know I'm bringing an old thread back from the dead, but is this server still active? I've been playing on single player for a couple of weeks now, but it's getting boring without others to interact with.

Does anyone know what the gather, taming, and other rates are set to? I definitely don't have a lot of time, or desire, to grind for resources.

Check out the server in the OP. It's still up and there are still a few people playing on I've been traveling for work and haven't been on in a couple of weeks, but I see a couple of guys on there via Steam several times a week.

I don't know what the gather/taming/leveling rates are set to, but they are pretty high. You'll level up in no time.

Well, I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but Ark keeps crashing when i try to join the server.

I went to arkservers.net, clicked the IP link, Ark started and downloaded some mods, then started crashing when trying to join. I rebooted and it still crashes when trying to join. It looks like I'm sticking with single player for now.

Maybe I can figure it out next week. I was looking forward to it. I joined one of the official servers just to see what was there, and the whole southwest spawn point was pillar spammed to where I couldn't even put down a campfire.

I don't think it has many mods this run. I recall it taking like 3 times when i first got started and haven't had issues since.

I was able to join the server on Wednesday night, and built a starter hut near a spawn point. I can build it out and leave it as a tribe outpost if y'all want. I'm not sure I'd want to stay there full time. I just have no idea how built out the rest of the server is. I didn't see a DinosMatter building on my quick run around the island.

Currently on vacation, so I won't be able to get back on until Monday.

Where at? Heck ya we can join up, we have space to build out even. We are on east side about mid-map on beach.

North side of the north island, on the beach. I'll try to get a pteranodon this evening and look around.

I couldn't join in last night. I was in the middle of taming a trike... and my wife and kids have no concept of what a microphone does. Y'all would have loved hearing from them.

I've been traveling and haven't been on much at all lately - I forgot we could paint! If I ever get back online I'll have to relearn some things.

Of course, the only thing I ever painted was fun images on eyeguy after he did something especially notorious.

D funk, 2k, and I started on a PvP server last night. Harvest is way up as well as taming. Lvl 104 terror bird trained with 1 prime in about 5 min.

Hopefully we did not get raided last night! Can't wait until we can do the same

No raid on us last night. Just got back on and tamed a 173 para, 130ish carno and a low level carno. Need a quetz next.

For any of the others that want to do some raiding, join us. The server is at 167.114.147.4:7777, [FRESH 6/27 IBGARK.COM]PVP. The company that runs it seems fairly established and the server was just wiped so you actually have a chance.

Found this after last night. Every time I edited something in options Bloom reset to 2. I knew there was a better way than retyping it every time.

Get online and we'll get you to the base. We have a Discord channel now that I'm sure someone can invite you to. Just make sure whoever picks you up invites you to the tribe before they fly you in; otherwise you'll get a bit too much of a welcome. I won't even tell you about my initiation ceremony last night.

Be prepared for mods - there are one or two you'll have to install before you can get into this server. It's worth it though.

I remember my first two days day in Ark when the game just came out and we were just starting, when I spent all my time trying to run to find the tribe across unfriendly terrain. Now that we have flyers its not a big deal at all to go get someone. This server we just have to a bit more careful as its PVP.

I have a PC Scorched Earth and Island server cluster running for TexAgs access. I've seen that the developers may add cross platform functionality at some point so PS4 and Xbox players would be welcome to join if that ever happens.

Man exploring and learning Ark was one of my most memorable gaming experiences. Grind became a little too much for me at the end but it's an incredible (and incredibly frustrating) game. Anyone played the scorched earth map? Have thought about getting back into it at some point.

Scorched Earth provides its own challenges. Water is scarce and the storms will kill you fast early on. Once you establish a base it becomes somewhat easier. And it has some exclusive dinos and items you can't get in the regular maps. Extremely nerve wracking to fly into the world scar to steal your first wyvern egg.

The servers I have set up have increased rates, and a handful of "quality of life" mods. The grind is lessened to where you can play on your own and still accomplish whatever you want. If you're interested you can get the server IPs and passwords on the discord channel.

I am absolutely convinced there is code to have an aggressive Dino close when a new player spawns in. Just as a welcome to Ark moment.
