Everytime I start up Steam it downloads another patch. I'm not too anxious about playing if it is constantly patching itself.

It's for new features, hasn't really been any major flaws since I started.

Bummed I missed it. We did score another tric and pteredon. I tried taming two more pteredons, the first woke up with only a few minutes left, the second got one-hit killed but a level 112 dilo with only a few minutes left. Not a happy night.

Well including the 2 we lost while taming it makes 3 yesterday. Maybe that should be -2 days since you start at 0 the day you lose one.

A couple pics from today.

Crafted a bow and got shot-happy, ended up shooting at what I didn't know was a level 96 trike. I ran to hide in our base, and the multitude of tamed dinos beat the s*** out of the attacking trike through the wall. This is the aftermath:



I was attacking a dolphin (thought they'd be easy prey), and I apparently aggroed a carbo. He came rising out of the depths of the ocean chomping on me (think he was lvl 69). I used the backpedal/bow combo to kill him, though it took about 5 minutes and 80 arrows. This is the result:

So, I just read that kibble works better than regular raw meat even if it is not the correct kibble for that particular dino. Can anyone verify this?

Kibble > Raw Prime > Wrong Kibble > Raw Meat

I am not sure which side of "Wrong Kibble" that cooked prime would fit, nor am I sure about if all "Wrong Kibble" behaves the same or if some will still work better than others.

Anyone else have any insight?

Haven't tried that. Kibble is tough to make so I wouldn't want to waste any. I got our stego egg factory up and running this weekend, 6 stegos doing nothing but laying eggs.

We have dodo eggs coming out the ears, so I wouldn't mind testing with that. How do you really know what is going to work best? Just put several things in the dino's inventory and what works best they will eat first?

That would do it. Put wrong kibble, raw prime and cooked prime to see what is eaten first. It is coded to work that way on wild dinos. For tamed dinos it's the opposite, worst goes first.

So make sure if you use kibble on a carnivore be sure after you tame it to add regular meat.
