The server filter sucks in the game. If you are trying to find the server and having trouble, add some of us on steam and when you see us in game, you can filter by "Friends" instead of by "My Survivors". That should allow you to find the server. Sometimes it won't show up even if you have a character on that server.

You may also be able to find it through the steam server browser. Open up the steam main window and at the top select View > Servers. If the server isn't on the Favorites or History tab, manually add a favorite using the IP address (68.64.171.154:7787).You should then see it in the Favorites tab and be able to connect.

I know a few times I've seen brontos on our beach that seem to disappear after a time. Nothing official but might explain it. Or an argentavis decided to put it out of its penned misery.

On the TCOV server, is it strictly made up of people from texags? And if so, it sounds like there are really only two tribes that exist. I'm not sure I follow what the main objective is of the game. Is it just to build a base, or how often do any actual tribe battles occur?

As far as I know, it's mostly people from Texags, but there is nothing to keep randoms from dropping in, or even creating their own tribe and trying to start a war. In the server we came from, I had a couple of minor run-ins with others that tried to kill me.

The game is wide open. First, you have to figure out how to survive, then you can tame dinos and research technologies to enhance your standard of living. There is an endgame in the form of some sort of creature we can summon and fight, but I haven't seen it done in a server I've been on yet.

We haven't had any fights with other tribes on TCOV, but it's possible as it is a PVP environment. So, if you ever run into a random there's no telling what could happen. Carnivorous dino's will kill you. Some are more aggresive than others. Herbivores will kill you too if you accidentally poke one or steal an egg or something.

I've trapped myself in a south zone cabin. Jumped into it due to it having no roof. Now locked in. Slowly trying to kill myself

Welcome to Ark! That's the first of many fine adventures you will find yourself in.

You may die faster if you run around in circles to use up your stamina, thus dehydrating and starving yourself faster. Then, punch walls until you die.

It took 7 minutes to punch myself to death. I'm now throwing up a condo just outside of town.

What town did you find? Did you someone's tribe?

Def found something. The cabin I locked myself inside of is part of a massive fort. Along a river and close to the coast. I assume its Dinosmatters fort.

When you get close to it, it should tell you the owner of the walls/floors

I now kill all dilos I see because of this exactly.

I feel the same way with Raptors but only because they ate some the creatures I had tried to tame. I give the what I call the Bosnian Boat Ride. It's when I grab them with my Agentavis and drop them way out in the ocean.

Heh, works well for survivors, not that I've ever dismounted my bird in flight or anything. Then frantically mash the parachute key, only to realize you didn't hot key it. What a nice view........thud.

I don't know anything about this game or anything so I just clicked on this thread and this is the first post I read. Hilarious especially without a context.

Texas aggies have a kickass base. Too bad I was nearly dehydrated by the time I randomly hit their gate. Ill likely die while I'm away from it and never stumble across it again.

You can drink the ocean water by standing in it, same for rivers/lakes. Send a message to someone in steam and you can get picked up and delivered to a base.

I did some work putting up the expanded walls last night. Hope that is alright.

I went to the Dinosmatter ocean base last night and put up a few spike walls, then tried out the dolphin. D'Funk told me where to find a water cave, and I went down there and mined it dry. Despite pumping my last few upgrades into oxygen, I found I just couldn't get deep enough without the chowder - I kept running out of air, and the dolphin was starving from all the sprinting.

Before I got the chowder, I tried to kill a shark while on the dolphin to get him some food, but it took so long I kept having to come up for air. I finally gave up after 3-4 tries. Either he doesn't do much damage, or sharks are really tough to kill.

Is there a point at which you can have enough points in oxygen to be very useful? I can mine oil pretty easily now with the dolphin (and no food), but to get pearls it takes much more time to get that deep.

I'll have to give it a try. I'm at 400 oxygen

Are there any other active tribes on the server other than Texas Aggies and DinosMatter? Feels like there are a ton of players, but only the two tribes.
