I've been wanting to try the SotF. you have to select that mode (bottom right of the menu screen) then search for open games and that will take you right into a match.

And have several hours to spend playing (thinking around 5) to go through the first round. Just don't have that time.

Was anyone able to temporarily move or fence in any of our dinos and stuff this weekend? My internet was still out and I didn't make it on.

We will have to wait until the server is updated, correct? I'll check in half an hour during lunch if I can. I expect it is going to be a pretty large update to download and it may not finish in time.

Yes, the server has to update first.

Looks like the server is updated already. Everything looks good, but when I tried to enter the snow biome, my screen went black. I could still move and get to my inventory, etc, but the biome wouldn't render. I had to turn around and exit the biome to see again.

Ok, I got loaded in during lunch and my report is as follows:

The castle appears untouched and is in perfect condition. I feel like the topography around it shifted a little bit, but that might just be my imagination.

The beach base is now a swamp base, and looks totally badass because of it. Seriously. You should all go check it out. The entire lagoon that we had is now a swamp. There an snakes, frogs, and some other big new herbivore all over the place. The water dinos we had are all gone, but the rest of them seem to be just fine. Also, based on what I saw, the snakes can slither through walls, so be careful there. Most of the dinos will have to be moved since they can barely move around in all the swamp trees.

That is awesome. Sounds like we need to clearcut the swamp base, but thats easy enough. Please tell me the sarco is still around ... it would be a terrible trick of fate for the swamp to be his demise.

Err.... I'm not sure I saw him actually. Which is strange since he would be right at home in the swamp....

I haven't been on in a while, but I think we usually left him on the east side of the building, in that strip of land between the base and the lagoon.

The magaladons sometimes glitch through the bay gates, so it's possible they are swimming in the ocean somewhere. May have to take an icthy search for them.

Glad Tictoc is alive and well I'll probably be on tonight to check out the changes.

I'll try to be on tonight too. I'd like to see the base. Funk, I know you're joking about tearing down the castle, but it was never intended to hold all the dinos, right? That's why we're building the fence?

I thought about getting on last night, but ended up trying to get shots of the moon between the clouds. It was totally hidden by the time it was full eclipsed, but I got a few of the beginning.

Well we had some issues last night. The Dodo Octagon got it's doors destroyed and the aggressively set Fellowship went on a rampage. It didn't end well. All told I think we lost 4 or 5 dodos. Oh, and the Minnow is nowhere to be found.

On the plus side, all dinos have been moved from the newely christened Swamp Base up to the castle. We explored the new snow biome which is pretty cool (pun intended) and we got a direwolf tamed. We also dropped two of the new elk/moose things off at the base but didn't have a chance to tame them yet (someone comfirm if they are still there?)

I plan on getting on tonight and taming a new batch of dodos and constructing a new, larger octagon (and dropping plenty of pigs in there to level them back up)... perhaps I'll place it between the castle and swamp base and up on some stilts so it's out of earshot of whistling and safe from the new titanboas that roam below the Cliffs of Insanity.

And we also need to start working on some type of egg farm - dodos are the best and easiest option with the kibble-o-matic, and we might need a second set of them at the castle since it will be hard to farm eggs from the Followship in the octagon.

If I can get my video stuff worked out, I'll get online and crash the Minnow II....

Random things I've found online... Might need testing

• You can stack up fence posts, then delete the ones below the top post to create a floating fence
• Dinos can be painted with server commands
• A doedicurus parked next to a rock will automatically harvest it
• Mate boosted dinos also gather more
• Sitting on a dinosaur increases your passive XP as well as using less food and water

I think we should put the octagon on the roof of the castle. I watched a boa go straight up the cliffs, so I'm not sure putting them in a simple elevated platform will work.

I thought the same, but whistling commands becomes an issue at that point. Becomes way too easy to make them unaggressive. Other ideas?

I still plan on eventually building "King's Tower" on top of the castle. I wouldn't recommend building the Dodo Octagon up there.

We have a ton of wooden platforms for getting a head start on the perimeter walls of the castle, but we need more walls and pillars. A lot more. Stone would be preferred, but it can be wood for now, just to get it up. I think getting that fence up should be a pretty high priority so that we can get those dinos out of the castle itself. It will make it much easier to move around in there.

Leveling isn't too difficult. I started over on the new server a month after everyone else because I was out of pocket for a while and in a night, by myself just building a little hut I got to level 20+. You can help us build stuff for the castle, or help prince make a bit of narco. I leveled the fastest when I got on a dino and farmed experience for myself and the dino - get on a t-rex or rapter, and you'll be up to 60+ in no time. We can help you farm alphas for extra experience.

Wait, how many t-rex have you gotten killed? Are you cousins with eyeguy or anything?

I also need a bunch of wood pillars, ceilings, walls and window frames for the new F.O.O.D.D. (Fellowship Octagon Of Dodo Doom). Constructing those will get you some XP

Idk when "coming soon" actually is, but that will be awesome!!! Take it to the mountain with tons of chests on it's back and load up!!!!

Would there be a weight discount for things in chests versus items in its inventory? If not, then chests would just be more weight to add to the items we could just put in inventory.

However, we could really load it up with furnaces or even a fabricator for mountain mining. Processing materials should save some weight.

The wondering albatross, which is still alive today and has a wingspan of up to 11.5 feet, is larger (at least wider) than a small aircraft.
