Honestly, I'm not familiar enough with their immigration laws regarding citizenship.

If he's an Indian citizen and lives India, I'd say he's Indian despite where his parents are from.

Trying to assign people's degree of "Texan" by looking at them and basing it on the tone of their skin color is a little sketchy. (Not saying this is what you're doing, just a general statement).

If you are someone who can trace your American ancestry to the the Civil War, then you are more an American that someone who can only trace their American roots to their immigrant parents or to themselves.

It's a way of saying that white Americans are at the front of the line, period. And being American is not circumscribed by the ideals of American inscribed in the founding documents of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. You came to America to be an American? So what. Get to the back of the line.

This is what Bo French is talking about. These are not "true" Americans. These are the brown Americans replacing the true white Americans.

It's just merely stoking nativist racism. He sees this as his path to power and influence. And by the responses seen here, many people agree with him. Of course, there are many people here who don't and have said as much.

I'll answer any question you like. Near as I can tell you want to be able to decide who a Texan is by a personal definition and you don't want anyone else to have the same option.

None of the founding fathers of the US or of Texas believed that anyone could become an American.

Fewer than 4000 Mexicans lived in Texas in 1836 - around 10% of the population. This percentage was roughly maintained until the 1970s when 85% of the population was still white.

The constitution of the US describes a government established to secure the blessings of liberty for posterity. The 1836 constitution of Texas uses the same language.

Who is the posterity of those men?

And if he is saying this, I suspect it is coming from the POV that our diversity obsession has gone off the rails because of 4 years of open borders under the Democrats. And the fact that foreign born coupled with white college graduates are now openly communist. Communists are not remotely American nor compatible with American ideals.

What you are seeing are people who are naturally revolting against something - left wing ideology - that is going to destroy everything that America was founded upon.

A person who is born in Texas to a Texan parent, or who has lived in Texas a sufficient time to establish their identity as a part of the Texan polity.

If you want to make it "creedal" then we need to define what creed defines a Texan. Being born here wouldn't cover it.
