If posting about "back in my day!!!" could change the course of history, TexAgs would really be onto something!
But it doesn't. And it won't.
The world will continue to change, just as it always has. I'm a native Texan, but I'm not dumb enough to think the world will look the exact same way in hundreds of years that it did hundreds of years ago.

I agree with Cornyn. Very stupid thing to post.

I wasn't originally gonna post this, but cause it feels too racist to do so (and I'm one of the brownies, Mexican kind), but then I saw Cornyn opine, and wanted to get y'all's thoughts.
So, tu posted their hype vid after the win yesterday…THAT'LL DO IT 🤘#HookEm pic.twitter.com/srkIUJR7ZA

And sure enough, this is their student section:I heard UT graduation this year looked like this. I didn’t believe it. The problem is now obviously far worse than anyone imagined. pic.twitter.com/Ys1bql0y4U

Like, we all know how it feels like Texas is getting overrun at an alarming rate. And I say overrun because when large swath of people come from another country, a different culture, and don't assimilate into our established culture, customs, and traditions, well, issues arise. At least when my parents came here in search of a better life, yes they wanted me to hang on to the customs they grew up with, but at the same time, they wanted to, and in turn, wanted me to grow up with American cultures and values instilled. Something as simple as turkey on thanksgiving, and burgers and hot dogs for Fourth of July. People may not it's a big deal, but it's the little things that grow, seeds if you will, that blossom and open the gates to understand why we do things, and falling in love with them in the process. I love America, what she stands for, and the resilience and courage her people show, such as the World Wars, 9/11, any instance of evil facing her people, America has always stood as a beacon of hope for her people. And I don't believe the people coming here know no care to know about that…
I'll get off my soapbox now… anyways, then I see Cornyn post this, and I'm just like, there's no way they thought this would go over well. This is the Republican nominee for statewide office. Are other Republican elected officials going to condemn the intolerance and racism, or look the other way while it becomes normalized. This is how great political parties self-destruct. Sad. https://t.co/TO1dTXKd6G

So what's y'all's thoughts? Also I'm posting this on my phone while waiting on my waffles from waffle house, so sorry if the links don't come through.
They're at an American football game enthusiastically cheering for their favorite team. I'd say they've assimilated rather well.

Brother I'm not worried about a hundred years from now. The demographic makeup of Texas was more or less stable from 1836 to the 1980s and has changed radically since then. Your point is that someday the sun will go out so it doesn't matter?

Pretty sure the state looked different 250 years ago. And that it'll look different 250 years from now. And that none of us have a clue as to what it will look like.
Despite the number of hand wringing posts on TexAgs.

Perhaps I didn't make it clear. I don't see any issues with any of those items. Kids become Americanized, or in this case "Texanized". Their kids even more so. White boys will marry cute Indian chicks, to the chagrin of the "pure blood" crowd.

My phrasing sounded less morbid than just saying "We will all be dead and none of our opinions posted on 'TexAgs will make a flippin' bit of difference".
Some will see this photo and see it as evidence of assimilation - Indians celebrating their school's football win. But if this was true assimilation, you'd see one or two Indians surrounded by non-Indian friends.Â

And I was assured that replacement theory was a conspiracy construct. Yet here we are.
