My countrymen are little green people from Mars. I accept them just 'cause they are different. Being different I know they are good for me and my nation 'cause racism is bad. End subject processing.

this isn't meant to be a trick question. it's pretty clear who the poster does not consider their countrymen; less so whom they do.

I'm trying to understand Bo French's strategy here.

He's already won the primary. He's in a down-ballot race where most people where most people will just automatically select (R). They will think Railroad Commissioner, oversees the railroads. How big a deal can it be, right? Please don't correct me on that.

He was probably asking himself "How can I secure swing voters, the squishy Concerned Moderates who voted for Cornyn?". So he puts out that Tweet, ensuring that those swing voters who had never heard of him surely know who he is now.

I wanted to thank the folks on F16. Anti-Indian attitudes in Texas left me little competition in the Collin/Denton County dating pool. Indian women (and Asian women in general) value intellectual guys, with many of them having a strong preference for white meat. I was about to take the next step with one before my future wife got my attention.

Thats not a put down on Indians at all.

I don't think you'll find the reason many people dislike immigrants is actually jealousy. Many of us don't like them because they're wildly different than we are. They also don't like them here in the UAE, which is insanely rich.

I'd tell mine they better find a way to compete and differentiate themselves. Everyone says the world needs ditch diggers until it's their children with the shovel in their hands.

Wow dude here's some math. India is a rapidly industrializing nation of 1.43 Billion with a B. Take the top 2% of that number and have your kids compete with even half that or a quarter of that-- in our educational system.

Your kids might not be stuck with shovels but they are not going to have the opportunity to max out what they do have because US schools are taking the top ~3 friggen % of the worlds best, not America best. Then many of them go home and compete with us using our tech, processes, and educational systems.

China didnt become a world power due to socialism they sent a zillion kids starting in the very late 70's to US universities. And here we are with them breathing down our necks.

This is about a lot more than a friggen pic from a football game. How many Texas students could be at UT right now bettering Texas, not India.

Granted some stay, but are they assimilating? Will they assimilate, maybe, possibly, dont know. But many will always have their hearts in India. Which is totally understandable but not in the interest of your kids or this nation. India will be a major future competitor to the US just as China has since ~2010.

Its NOT our responsibility or in our interest to educated and train future competitors for a short term gain.

You cant see this ???? Agree competition is good but leave that for the citizenry of this nation. Great power completion is not so fun especially when you give them our best tech and processes. Its ******ed.

...

Not my fault you miss things.

For those that haven't dealt with Indian culture a lot, they are raised to raid the system. They absolutely thrive in a high trust environment where people are expected to self police.

If you've ever flown to the eastern hemisphere outside of Europe you'll know that a billion of them ride in wheelchairs so they can pre-board, despite not needing them.

If you can be cheated, you should be cheated, and it's your fault for allowing it to happen.

It cuts across all social classes. I've had Indian laborers tell me the camera was "confused Saar" when I caught them stealing cutting tools from the vending machine on our shop floor, and I've had rich business owners accidentally copy me (and my lawyer) on emails where they're discussing trying to extort us.

My oldest graduated top 15% from a very large 6A high school last May and my middle child will graduate too 20% from the same school next May. It's a mostly white school, but the top 8% in both of their classes are almost all Asian. Almost no white kids at these big public high schools can go to Texas. A few top 10% kids in the class got their PSA program- one year at a system school with an opportunity to transfer. Even further, one of my son's best friends was Asian, was top 8%, and his dream school was Texas. He chose not to go there because, despite being an auto-admit with over a 1500 sat, Texas wouldn't even admit him to McCombs. It is crazy how competitive it is at that school now and how different their student body looks from just two decades ago.

My daughter got into Texas with being just inside the top 20%, a 1360 SAT score, and a 4.35 GPA with a few dual credit/AP scores.

Her best friend got in as well. She never took a single advanced class and her SAT was average, along with her 4.0 GPA.

Both got PSA'd at A&M. Very weird year for admissions, in my opinion.

That probably depends on the major. The in demand majors (engineering, business, etc) have stiff competition. Even at A&M.

I got into both schools, but that was back in the 80's when both schools were admitting hicks. I actually took classes at both schools too.

To its whats in your heart. If you are loyal, truly loyal, law abiding- including immigration, working or trying too and care about this nation AS FOUNDED and refined to its core ideals, then I have no problem.

We have a responsibility first to our law abiding citizens no matter the race. People crashing the border or gaming this system or bringing in socialist/communist ideas should not be allowed near the door.

Its a heart thing not a racial one. I'd take a hard working law abiding brown or black over an entitle white leftest any day of the week. Leftest see NOTHING but race and process a situation no further

Seriously, if you can look around your neighborhood and greater community and not see an overwhelming number of foreigners, you should really stay out of these discussions.

I deal with it every day and it's beyond frustrating. My beliefs and opinions about immigration are 100 percent colored by my real-world interactions with people who can't speak English and don't understand or share basic Western culture and mores.

If your local stores and restaurants haven't shifted to cater to a majority immigrant population; if people on your street still put out American flags and celebrate Christmas; if you've never stood in frustration and anger in a long line at the pharmacy listening to the Indian customer arguing with the Chinese pharmacist, both speaking broken English; if seeing a white kid out in public doesn't make you do a double-take ...

... then you probably should step back.

The dude that changed my oil in Cypress, TX is more of an American than the guy who owns the largest company in India.

No we shouldn't just let people into our country because they're smart.

And sure enough, this is their student section:

Like, we all know how it feels like Texas is getting overrun at an alarming rate. And I say overrun because when large swath of people come from another country, a different culture, and don't assimilate into our established culture, customs, and traditions, well, issues arise. At least when my parents came here in search of a better life, yes they wanted me to hang on to the customs they grew up with, but at the same time, they wanted to, and in turn, wanted me to grow up with American cultures and values instilled. Something as simple as turkey on thanksgiving, and burgers and hot dogs for Fourth of July. People may not it's a big deal, but it's the little things that grow, seeds if you will, that blossom and open the gates to understand why we do things, and falling in love with them in the process. I love America, what she stands for, and the resilience and courage her people show, such as the World Wars, 9/11, any instance of evil facing her people, America has always stood as a beacon of hope for her people. And I don't believe the people coming here know no care to know about that…

I'll get off my soapbox now… anyways, then I see Cornyn post this, and I'm just like, there's no way they thought this would go over well.

So what's y'all's thoughts? Also I'm posting this on my phone while waiting on my waffles from waffle house, so sorry if the links don't come through.

He outkicked the coverage by thinking the white supremacy constituency is larger than it actually is.
