What is lost on some of y'all is that this all started under Perry and Abbott.

They both were handing out tax breaks to tech companies with no incentive to hire US citizens for those jobs that they were created as a result of those companies setting up shop in Austin and DFW. Those companies brought in cheaper labor from India and have been doing so for 30 years. So those folks who moved here in 2000 from India bought homes and had families. Now those folks had kids who are 100 percent US citizens, completely acclimated to being just that..Americans.

If the GOP wants someone to blame about how "they don't look like us," or "those kids are taking our spots," they only need to look in the mirror.

I agree with Cornyn. Very stupid thing to post.

Cornyn is really showing who he truly is. There's nothing racist about posting something that's happening that should be questioned. He's doing what the left always does to shut down the conversation and or momentum. And he's doing it to a Republican. He worming his way to a CNN gig at this point.

So "something that's happening that should be questioned" is brown people enjoying a college football game? Good lord, white nationalism has become so normalized here.

This is about H1B fraud and you know it.

This is about a GOP politician literally posting a picture of brown people and saying racist things. If he wanted to talk H1B fraud he could have said that directly, but instead he used a visual meant to apply to the hearts of the xenophobic MAGA (but I repeat myself) base.

Quick check for racism: what do you know about these students besides the their skin color?

More racism and bull**** comes out of the Democrat party than anything, but you guys again want to push the maga lie. Your party is constantly telling white people. They are evil and horrible and bad.

We actually don't care about color in general. That's something you guys push with every breath you take. And yes, this is about HB one fraud. It's about people in other countries giving fraudulent results to get into universities and taking a US citizen spot

But you keep going on about the the white man boogie man and how racist MAGA is when we're not and just completely ignore the cluster **** that is your party.

With every post, you lose your argument, a little more. Oh no wait you don't have an argument. You just throw out the racist card. You don't wanna talk about the topics you don't wanna talk about the real problems like any typical liberal and Democrat you just wanna push racism, racism, racism, white man bad.

I get your point.

But Perry nor Abbott don't have control over the H1b visa abuse.

There is nothing wrong with diversifying the State's business...and because Perry did that, we're seeing a massive overflow of the rainy day fund right now. Business in our State is booming, and we're not reliant on the ebbs and flows of the energy sector any longer.

Growing business in our State, and controlling the immigration policy of the country are two different things.

Anyway not all change is the same. We can improve our society in ways I agree with and also radically change it in ways that I don't, and those are independent of each other.

Segregation bad doesn't make unfettered immigration good.

It's interesting that some in the Democrat party want to bring back segregation. Just blows the mind.

Given where our birthrate is, and where the current demographics stand, I'd say mathematically it would be near impossible to change, via immigration policy, the demographics back to what they were 50 years ago.

If we want to remain the only economic and political superpower left, we need to adapt to the changing world.

What if we worried less about the ability to project influence and various corners of the world and worried more about what happens in the western hemisphere and taking care of our own messes for a while?

The economic superpower is a joke when it comes at the behest of massive money printing and a gajillion times earnings valuations of tech companies.

Well, when white kids are literally being discriminated against these days being accepted into colleges, it's a problem. It's funny how you hated it when it happened back in the 60s against other minorities, because it was wrong then and it's wrong now it doesn't matter what race it's against.

But it's OK against the whites. Again this is about the cheating and preferential treatment.

Trying to change a wrong by doing another wrong doesn't make it OK.

Remember, according to the Democrats and even the weirdo running for office right now it's only bad if you're white. Everyone else gets a pass.

I didn't say that. I don't know who did. I don't care what color people are IF they're getting in on their own merits. It appears there is a skewed amount of Indians getting in on fraudulent test scores.

If they are American citizens that's fine as well. I don't care what color they are. I think we need to lower the international acceptance rates regardless of color. I've said this all along. Don't blame me for somebody else's stupid comment.

annie88
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I didn't pay any attention to this HB-1 stuff for a long time. Honestly, I wasn't even aware how much of it was supposedly fraudulent and/or prevalent in many of our universities.

If Abbott brought this on then shame on him. We know the Democrats allowed lot of illegal immigration so it sounds like a joint effort to me. Are they connected? Maybe on a small amount I honestly don't know. I'll have to look more into this.

Honestly, I had never heard of Bo French before this blew up.

I need to do a little more research on this issue, but it sounds like they're cracking down more on the number and raising the cost of them? That might help with some of this. I also wasn't aware of these so-called testing/diploma factories producing fraudulent, credentials in India and other countries.

I just assumed and/or hoped that people that were applying for college actually had the credentials they say they do.

Again, I don't care what ethnicity someone is if they get it on their own merit and I would prefer American citizens get first cracks at schools and have a very small international rates.

But of course we see racist as hell comments constantly from the Democrats every day and he has no problem with that.
I mean for God sakes look at Talarico, putting down his own race and saying we are horrible people. He has no problem with that.

Just let him live in his own little world, thinking everyone's racist but him and ignoring the actual problems in our state and country. Liberals and Democrats bring race into everything. It's exhausting to deal with these people.

The risk with isolation is if we're not dictating policy worldwide, some other, stronger country will. And that includes dictating policy upon us, too. To me, that is a far scarier world to leave our grandchildren than having some Indian kids cheer at a football game.

I'd tell mine they better find a way to compete and differentiate themselves. Everyone says the world needs ditch diggers until it's their children with the shovel in their hands.

Wow dude here's some math. India is a rapidly industrializing nation of 1.43 Billion with a B. Take the top 2% of that number and have your kids compete with even half that or a quarter of that-- in our educational system.

Your kids might not be stuck with shovels but they are not going to have the opportunity to max out what they do have because US schools are taking the top ~3 friggen % of the worlds best, not America best. Then many of them go home and compete with us using our tech, processes, and educational systems.

China didnt become a world power due to socialism they sent a zillion kids starting in the very late 70's to US universities. And here we are with them breathing down our necks.

This is about a lot more than a friggen pic from a football game. How many Texas students could be at UT right now bettering Texas, not india.

Granted some stay, but are they assimilating? Will they assimilate, maybe, possibly, dont know. But many will always have their hearts in India. Which is totally understandable but not in the interest of your kids or this nation. India will be a major future competitor to the US just as China has since ~2010.

Its NOT our responsibility or in our interest to educated and train future competitors for a short term gain.

You cant see this ???? Agree competition is good but leave that for the citizenry of this nation. Great power completion is not so fun especially when you give them our best tech and processes. Its ******ed

But since the HB-1 thing, and again, I have not been paying much attention to it, has been creeping up in the news for the past few years. I don't think it's a completely bizarre connection though.

Honestly, by the picture, and considering how students get their tickets at each school, I'm curious as to how so many were in one section. I don't know how the sips do their student pull. But I would've expected the section to be more diverse with all sorts of races. Wouldn't you?
