I wasn't originally gonna post this, but cause it feels too racist to do so (and I'm one of the brownies, Mexican kind), but then I saw Cornyn opine, and wanted to get y'all's thoughts.

So, tu posted their hype vid after the win yesterday…


And sure enough, this is their student section:


Like, we all know how it feels like Texas is getting overrun at an alarming rate. And I say overrun because when large swath of people come from another country, a different culture, and don't assimilate into our established culture, customs, and traditions, well, issues arise. At least when my parents came here in search of a better life, yes they wanted me to hang on to the customs they grew up with, but at the same time, they wanted to, and in turn, wanted me to grow up with American cultures and values instilled. Something as simple as turkey on thanksgiving, and burgers and hot dogs for Fourth of July. People may not it's a big deal, but it's the little things that grow, seeds if you will, that blossom and open the gates to understand why we do things, and falling in love with them in the process. I love America, what she stands for, and the resilience and courage her people show, such as the World Wars, 9/11, any instance of evil facing her people, America has always stood as a beacon of hope for her people. And I don't believe the people coming here know no care to know about that…

I'll get off my soapbox now… anyways, then I see Cornyn post this, and I'm just like, there's no way they thought this would go over well.

They're at an American football game enthusiastically cheering for their favorite team. I'd say they've assimilated rather well.

I'm assuming these are mostly American-born citizens, given they are likely undergrads. And they appear to have assimilated pretty well from the picture.

That being said, I'm not keen on H1B abuse and tu still sucks.

That's the problem I see with it. Texas (the university) is down to about 30% white now which is wild. They no longer represent the state of Texas.

It's a California school in a California town in the state of Texas.

If those kids and their families hold residency status in TX and their families work/pay taxes in TX, how is tu not working on behalf of Texans. In all likelihood, they were top something% and earned their way as an auto-admit.

After reading the OP, I am not even sure what the purpose of his post is. Are you advocating we should not allow people into ut who earned their spot on merit. Are you and Bo implying ut's class should proportionally reflect the demographics in TX and not merit.

Bo is an idiot for posting that. Most reasonable people in TX including Reps will imo think his post is unnecessary. This is how politicians lose normal people who are sick of the polarizers.

Also, how dumb are people to take one pic and make these assumptions. That demographic was definitely the minority in that stadium if you watched the game.

Per Wikipedia as of 2020, Texas is 40% white and 39% Hispanic. At the rate it's changing, today Hispanic is most likely the majority

I'm saying I'm not sure how to really feel about any of this. I look at a place like Frisco, and how much it has changed, and not necessarily for the better.

I say I don't know how to feel because I see both sides of the immigration argument, but at the end of the day, at what cost do we lose our soul as an American society, for the sake of "progress."

I realize it sounds like I'm talking about both sides of mouth, and maybe I am… I haven't been able to form an opinion on the immigration issues because, as a first gen American, it's not lost on me that I could very well not have been American at all. So when I say I want to hear your thoughts on this, I genuinely mean it.

There are a lot of Indian Americans in Texas (many are citizens). They are taxpayers and contribute to America as much or likely more (due to Indian Americans having high salaries on average) than you do. I'd bet the majority in this photo are not immigrants, they've lived in America their whole life. Maybe that's why it's clearly about race.

Bo French is an idiot we all have to vote for.

Two observations as an old white guy:

1. The discrimination against straight white males is real. Liberals did it (likely white liberal women!) It has created an atmosphere of resentment that hasn't yet shown itself in the mainstream, but Bo French is trying to make it so.

For context, Matt Walsh on the discrimination against straight white males:


I am not on board with creating a new class of resentment but this new aged discrimination situation has to be addressed.

2. Cornyn is absolutely correct. Hispanic men have been a part of Texas history since before the Texas Revolution (for one example, Colonel Juan Nepomuceno Segun, a hero of the Alamo and the Texas Revolution, who led Tejano forces at San Jacinto.)

We need to reconcile #1 and #2 quickly, IMO.

We have newer data than that. I looked at multiple different sources using data as recent as 2024 and most are showing anywhere from 31-34% white. And Hispanics and Asians being both around 25%. Your Hispanic number is way overstated from what I've seen. I don't think people realize how Asian tu is now.

My wife was a guest professor there for a few years before the current Indian invasion....so about 5 years ago when she last taught. Taught in the business school. At the time, most of her students were Oriental Asian, then white, then Hispanic.

I don't see anything racist about his comment. We're not a racist country. Texas has had a huge contingent of Hispanics since forever, and we like them because they're part of our culture.

Much different than importing foreigners by the thousands.

We have a right to be critical about immigration policy. Nobody is saying round these ppl up. If they're citizens, then cool. But the immigration needs to stop.

I remember having foreign teachers at A&M. Ones that could barely speak English. The entire class would have to meet everyday after class just to translate what we were being "taught". Why? Does that benefit Texans? I'm sure it benefits Cornyn. It doesn't benefit me in any way and was actually a huge inconvenience. It's a joke.

Yep, Americans have different color skin. The issue and what I think builds resentment is many people associate white as being American. I've seen in many times and I've done it too, when you meet a non-white and ask where are they from. If they respond America, more times than not, there is follow-up question asking where their family is from. White people do that and non whites. Some anticipating the follow-up don't even answer America. It perpetuates the mentality that whites are the real Americans.

Just to clarify my number was for the state of Texas not the school.

But yeah the difference between UT and A&M is the Asian/Indian population. If you're Asian/Indian in the top 10% you are going to UT rather than A&M and there are lot of Asians/Indian in top 10% or I guess top 8%

But to be fair I don't know how you get around this. The problem is already here. If you wanted it to stop yew should have limited the mass influx of Indians and Asians.

As long as these kids actually earned their way in and didnt get in because of some quota system there's nothing to argue against. I believe in the meritocracy. at least they're absorbing the culture. the horrible and disgusting and foul and smelly and pathetic tu culture

I certainly don't meet someone with a different skin color and ask them where they are from because of it and assume that they aren't an American because of their skin color. That sounds like a personal issue for some, but I really don't know anyone who thinks that way.

Being an American isn't a skin color, perhaps, it is an ideal, a way of life, but not a skin color.

If someone has a heavy accent or speaks poor English, you might ask where they are from at some point in a conversation out of curiosity. But that person could have skin color of white, brown, black, etc. It would be based on that curiosity. They could be of European decent and the whitest person one has ever met.

"Texan, actually" I replied.

No one has commented on the huge male/female gap. I guess if you're a guy, you got a lot of girls to pick from on that campus. Problem is probably most of them aren't conservative.

As has been pointed out, Cornyn gets a lot of credit for the past 25 years of invasion. When the guy campaigned for senate on campus in 2000, I asked him a softball question on immigration enforcement at a Q&A. He completely dodged answering, and has been governing that way since.

It's amazing how many Americans can't even get to this point. We are a rootless nation with nothing to bind us except an illusion of freedom. Hyper individuality has ruined everyone. Civil unrest in our country will be a very bleak and horrifying time. My guess is that it will begin summer 2027 after months of increasing fuel and product prices along with more fraud and evil exposed.

I think all schools give too many spots to foreigners. I have no problem with people of any color or past nationality coming to Texas A&M or tu if they're American citizens. It does bother me that we give so many spots that could go to Americans to international students. There should be a small percentage, but not as many as there are. And honestly, the engineering department at A&M has changed drastically over the years as well.

Interesting that it's mostly men in that photo, though.

What I find sad though is so many people looking at the game through their phones. I know we all record things from now and then but can't people just enjoy being at the game anymore?

I think A&M proved that when we discovered a coven of CCP spies. And I'm sure we still have some.
