If you vote for those that will enact it, you by default support it.

Exactly. There is no more direct form of support for something than voting for someone who advocates for that something.

If Donald Trump ran on locking up the gays, and I voted for him, you would be a complete idiot or crazy person to say I did not directly support that. What I personally say or "think" on the subject matters not, if I am directly advocating for insane tyrannical or destructive policies via my vote.

If you vote for Talarico, you support mentally ill biological males in my daughters sports/showers/locker rooms, among many other insane and degenerate things.

Here's the thing… Gods job is to judge the sin…. It's my job to vote on the policy…. I stand with Conservative policy… not socialist policy…

This is incorrect in your day to day living. How can you judge if a particular behavior or action is sinful if you don't "judge" it and weigh it against the bible?

I am voting for Paxton and the rest of the R's no matter what, the Democrat is lying about his faith and his polices are terrible.

Two years is enough to flip or turn away a bunch of Trump voters? What do you think they are thinking? "Hey the news says tariffs are bad. Let's try communism instead!" Or is it, "hey the news says the deportations I voted for are bad. Let's vote for open borders guy this time!"

No, very few Trump voters will change their position completely and vote for Talarico. He could, however motivate many who sat out in '24 because the dems put up the worst or second worst candidate ever to actually cast a ballot this go around. Trump fatigue is a huge motivation and his approval rating is in the 30s. Refer to '20 as an example of high voter turnout.

If ever a seat was going to flip blue, it's now.

I still don't think it will happen, but it is as perfect a political storm as there could ever be for a Dem (unpopular GOP candidate and president and a Dem candidate that actually appeals outside of the woke deep blue cities).

IF it were to happen, it's only because Talarico drew the winning lottery for Texas politics.

There's no reason to think this is even close to flipping to the commies this cycle. If it were, there would be something like Ossoff's $42 million war chest pumping out ads in Houston and Dallas. Trump is going to throw some cash to shore it up and then the Dems will focus funding Iowa and Ohio where they have more favorable media costs/opportunities. Any dime they spend in Texas is just setting money on fire for them, when their pick up opportunities are up north.

And Trump is more popular than any other 2nd term president with the GOP base, including in Texas. Mail in ballot fraud won't gin up 82 million 'votes' in 2026.

If they were really clever, they'd also subtly fund Darlene Graham Nardone in South Carolina as I could see her functionally/actually flipping to caucus with Schumer if she wins the primary.

Agreed.

Money should be spent in any other race than this one. Talarico being ahead in the polls means nothing in July. Kamala was "ahead" in the polls in August and she still got her ass handed to her.

That's why I said IF it were to happen it would only be because everything that could possibly go right for Talarico did. I don't see him winning. At best, he loses by less than Beto did, but loses nonetheless.

One thing we've learned in the past 6 years or so is the polls are meaningless. They are pure propaganda.

And fundraising requests - "I'm 3 points ahead. Keep donating to my campaign so I can win in November". There are people who do not understand the candidate will be able to keep his/her campaign funds for personal use when they leave politics. It's in their best interest to drive up donations.

It's clear the Democrats just picked up the Cornyn RINO playbook talking points and are using them against Paxton.

It didn't work in the runoff, and it won't work in the general. They greatly overestimate the popularity of Talarico. The only thing I give them is I do think Democrats are more motivated to turn out in this election, but it won't be enough to overcome Talarico's massive negatives. I think Paxton wins by between 4-8 points.

I agree with most of what you wrote, but I think Paxton wins by 3-5 points. This will probably be the closest Senate election since Ted Cruz's 2.6% margin of victory over Beto O' Rourke in 2018.

Talarico is a heretic person as he twists the Bible saying he's a preacher. False preachers are warned about in the Bible.

Religion doesn't move the needle for me, since no religion on the planet can be proved. Heretic? Pfft. Whatever. Paxton is an irrefutable and unashamed corruption machine.

the political cult of evangelism doesn't tolerate Christians who aren't republicans. calling talarico a heretic is an immune response that's more political than religious.

What we don't tolerate are those who claim to be Christian while endorsing the wholesale slaughter of human beings in the womb OR those who embrace sexual deviancy and redefining the Biblical definition of marriage. You can NOT be a Christian and endorse any of the above. To do so invalidates any claims to Christian faith.

this is what i'm talking about. this is a political argument wearing the thin veneer of a religious one. it's reductive and dogmatic to collapse Christianity to a purity test on abortion and LGBT issues. calling talarico a heretic is nothing more than political virtue signaling for evangelicals.

Abortion and LGBT issues are part of it, but to me the really egregious part is him saying there is more than one path to heaven or that other religions have the same message, just packaged differently. The Bible is exclusive. The message of Christ is welcoming to all, but there is only one way.

"Jesus answered, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." - John 14:6

Talarico is preaching the opposite. He is a heretic. The creator of the universe tells us the path. Not some charlatan running for political office.

This is lost on liberals. Most are non believers and clueless about the Bible. They pick and choose snippets to push their political views. And that's exactly what Talarico does as well. No Christian pastor would call the Bible propaganda. This poster has absolutely no idea about anything in the Bible and has clearly not read any of it.
