Don't fall for the PR from the DNC. They want to validate spending millions in Texas--again. Paxton will begin to get out in front of people, explain what he wants, expose what Talarico is about, then they'll debate in October, Beto 2.0 will get schooled, and Paxton will win by 1-2 points, while the MSM/DNC say Texas is turning purple--again.

Look at the huge lead the polls showed Abdul-al-Sayed had going into yesterday's primary. He just edged it out. In deep blue Michigan.

Methinks Talarico's poll numbers are equally...soft.

Paxton's recent statements on the economy seem inconsistent with what Trump has been saying lately. I doubt it, but wonder if he will try to distance himself from Trump's positions as the general election gets closer.

"Washington has made it harder than ever to get ahead, and the American Dream is slipping away as the cost of everything from housing to healthcare rises. My agenda is very simple: I believe every Texan should be able to buy a home, raise a family and live a healthy life without struggling to make ends meet."

With Trump's approval numbers right now this is exactly what Paxton needs to do. He can't just run on he will be there to vote for everything Trump wants. People want to hear some type of plan.

Talacreepo has spent tens of millions of dollars so far and all it's gotten him is a statistical tie with a candidate who isn't even campaigning right now

All it's going to take is a focused commercial campaign weeks before the election of non-stop Talacreepo in his own words and it's over for him

Maybe that's why liberal white women support trans women... because they look alike.\

Trying to pass these idiots as former staunch Republicans is a joke (and one even screams out "..and I gave him my money!"). Funny that I haven't gotten any texts from Paxton begging for money, but I get one from Jimmy Low-T at least twice a week now for almost a quarter ("even a dollar makes a difference!") and he is even campaigning outside of the state begging for dollars.

I'm sure it is. Isnt the DNC HQ put up for collateral against their massive debt right now?

This is what one of them said referring to Talarico -

"This is not what I signed up for. Give me somebody who's not extremist. I don't care what party they are. I'm going to vote for whoever is the most common sense and who I think would be the most likely to protect my kids."

There is zero chance these women are Republicans. The media really needs to try harder if they want anyone to believe that nonsense.

I dont think this was the media, perse; it was a campaign ad.

Apparently, specifically targeted towards Republican women, but using AWFULs as stand ins as "former Republican women".

It wont work.

Well that explains it. It's about as realistic as him driving his pickup or wearing his boots and jeans and cowboy hat. With beta boy, not only is it not believable, it's laughable.

That group around the table look like a gaggle of pissed off 20+ year elementary school teachers that just got told they weren't going to get a raise. Not your typical Republican voter for sure.

That's called your husband, sugartits. If you no longer have one, your quote makes a lot more sense as to the why of it. If you still have one and are looking to a limpwristed pantywaist like Talarico to do that job, either you need to ditch your husband, or your husband needs to ditch you.

The Democrats really need to settle on what they're going to call women. Between "birthing bodies" and "pregnant people" and "neighbors with a uterus" it's getting confusing. I know the word woman is too scientifically complex but Shirley there's something else they can settle on.

It amazes me actual women are voting for a party that despises them and seeks to reduce their identity as women at every turn. Trans men over women in sports and private places. "Birthing people" or whatever nonsense term they're using today. Don't be a stay at home birthing person, go get a soul sucking corporate job.

Democrats #1 play is scaring people with "you're under attack" and in this case it's true. BY DEMOCRATS! WTF is wrong with women?

hello friend with a uterus! I think it's a reflection of a lot of things.

Many in our selfish degenerate society were raised as Christian but are conflicted with modern society's demand that crushing baby skulls with forceps and ripping their limbs off with a vacuum is righteous and good "healthcare". A man of the cloth preaching that it's ok per the bible feels good to them.

Our public education and media are totally captured, so the dangers of socialism and communism isn't taught anymore, and there's a growing strong belief that America is a terrible evil place, capitalism has failed, everything is the fault of evil whitey and we need all this Marxist pandering to relive guilt and feel good with things like equity and redistribution and reparations. A theater kid preacher man of the cloth makes socialist slogans and policies sound like a wonderful utopia under the guise of compassion for everyone but the evil people who actually earn or produce anything and already fund the enormous bloated government. The goverment just doesn't have enough means to solve every problem for everyone because the few of us left that still pay taxes don't pay enough taxes, as if government confiscation from half to support charity for the other half is supposed to be the role of government.

It's just frustrating to see the Texas GOP parade of crappy candidates who even Republicans have to hold their noses to vote for. Then we complain about crappy governance. Now we get a couple more months of reports on how close the race is and silence from Paxton because he's better of being quiet than actually running on his record, and having an R by his name means he won't have to do much campaigning.

Paxton isn't going to be quiet til Election Day but right now letting Talarico have as much airtime as he wants is his best campaign strategy. When people tell you who they are, listen. That's what Paxton is doing right now, letting Talarico tell us he's a communist with values that are antithetical to literally everything conservative Americans believe in. Let him get it all out there on tape then start spending money using his own words against him. When football season starts you'll start seeing Paxton start campaigning. Until then let Talarico keep telling voters who he is.

I understand what you're saying but it's not changing my mind that this is a poorly run campaign, at least so far.

Talarico isn't telling voters he's a communist. He's telling them he's a normal Texan that supports a secure border, great public schools, helped reduce property taxes, and is fighting for "affordability" but of course doesn't say how. Every one of these ads should be countered, mocked, and laughed at. Gayer Pee-Wee Herman is running the narrative right now.

Paxton has an unlikeable image working against him, fair or not. People are lazy. Some woman gets on the treadmill at Planet Fitness after work and sees those ads, probably knowing nothing about Talarico, makes up her mind on the spot, and tunes out until election day. That's the risk in play here. Well, he sure seems like a nice young man, better than that corrupt cheater Paxton.

Paxton doesn't have to have his face out there yet. Probably a good thing. But his surrogates should be hammering away. "Talarico says he did this, but here is what he really did" and show his voting record. "Talarico wants you to believe he's just a normal Texan but here are his real views" then clips of his commie weirdo sermons. I think waiting "until football is back on" is a terrible strategy. He's already down.

I hope you guys are right. I really do. But this is the most important Senate contest of the election. Losing this seat in Texas would be a superbowl win for the left. Having this little freak represent Texas in the Senate for at least six years would be an absolute disaster for the GOP nationally. It's symbolic more than anything. Turn the f'ing dogs loose.

Except Michigan is not deep blue. It's a swing state with a blue lean. The state is over 70% white and much of that working class. And that was a democrat primary anyway. Not sure where you going with this.

It's an engineered interview for the sole purpose of making Talarico look like a 'moderate' who cares about kids.

Those weren't unrehearsed statements from real Republican voters. This is the Talarico campaign overcompensating with these 'forced' pieces of content to counter the numerous videos circulating of him sharing his actual radical views.

They're pretending like this is organic and authentic, but it's calculated and for a purpose.

He has an image problem, and they're going to extremes to remake it. They are counting on people (particularly suburban white women with kids) being uninformed and naive.
Gigem314
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Talarico needs to be way further ahead in the polls than he is now. Even with Paxton being a known name, MAGA supporter, and personal baggage, he's barely trailing.

While Paxton has more of an unlikeable image than Cornyn and Cruz, Talarico doesn't appear to have nearly as likeable of an image as Beto did - who still lost.

Obviously the Paxton campaign should be taking this seriously, and I think they are. He indicated on Clay & Buck the other day that campaign season is about to really heat up, and I think he'll be very aggressive in going after Talarico's views and record from now until Election Day.

Clearly we'd all prefer a 'slam-dunk' on paper for the R's, but I don't even think that was going to be the case with Cornyn.

If Talarico sneaks in the republican voters in Texas will have nobody to blame but themselves.

It probably won't happen but there was no need for it to ever even be in doubt. Especially not over a degenerate like Paxton.

Paxton needs the people behind Spencer Pratt's campaign videos or at least take a note from that campaign. A non-communist had no business being that competitive for mayor of LA.

Yep. The GOP, for all our f'ups in Texas (and they are legion), is still a force in Texas. Abbott is sitting on a comfortable 6-7 point lead over Hinojosa. He's done basically nothing. Shouldn't be this close.
