How valid is a poll in Texas that has 300 more Harris voters than Trump voters? That's not quality polling, I don't care what you do with weighting.

Two years ago Rasmussen (one of the few that was accurate through the entire cycle) was mocking pollsters like YouGov, predicting that they would spend October shifting from polls saying, "HARRIS IS GONNA WIN!" to polls saying "Trump is gonna win" so they could salvage some credibility for future elections. He was of course right and it looks like it worked.

So a credible pollster weighs in for Talarico. At least we have someone that strives for accuracy instead of someone trying to craft a narrative. That's good. I'm not one to believe Paxton can't lose, I am one to not believe the polls because they've proven they aren't trustworthy. That's their problem, not mine.

That aside I went to the Rasmussen site and to YouTube and couldn't find anything from them in this race. Can you help us out with what you're seeing?

Really starting to think these are coming out on purpose. Showing distance from Trump is a good thing given who he's targeting in these last few weeks.

To be clear, Rasmussen had it as a 1 point race, well within the margin of error, on the poll they released on the 30th, 46-45. We're getting past the point of splitting hairs on September polls though, imho.

So I was listening to the Adam Carolla Show this morning when Adam and Jeff Garlin briefly started talking about politics (at 44:45) and the Los Angeles mayoral election and Jeff from out of nowhere endorsed Talarico.

I still don't think the Talarico hype is anywhere close to what we saw with Beto but it's still wild to me that a celebrity that resides in California would go out of his way to endorse and presumably donate to a Texas candidate.

Most people don't think long term. They are thinking about their RIGHT NOW. What is bugging/bothering them right now is the cost of living and high gas prices. The scare tactic of using MARXIST and COMMUNIST doesn't work with them because they are hurting NOW.

This is why I keep asking y'all if you are talking to any of the candidates. Paxton is not wrong when he says that POTUS is hurting all of them and bringing them down. Can Paxton really help with the cost of living? Can he help with gas prices? All folks see is that Republicans who are in power, and those of us that are in Texas have been living under Republican power for 20+ years, are only giving us more of the same. For those of us with nest eggs and luxuries and a ton of money in the stock market, life is freaking awesome. But we are the exception. The average person is hurting.

I think some of us need to remember that.

The United States Hispanic Business Council did a member survey and the top 3 concerns were:

- Affordability/ cost of energy
- Immigration
- Health care

The main attacks on Talarico seem to be based on woke politics, not the above.
