I won't answer the question on everyones' mind. How did he acquire his real estate portfolio that is spread across five states on a TAG salary? He owns:
  • Texas: 5 homes
  • Florida: 3 homes
  • Utah: 4 condominiums (located at the luxury Black Desert Resort in Ivins) and a plot of land
  • Oklahoma: 1 lodge/cabin (located in Broken Bow)
  • Hawaii: 1 undeveloped plot of land

I assume you know he held multiple roles in the working world as a corporate attorney, in-house counsel, and owned his own law firm for over a decade before he got into politics, right? Unlike your boy Talarico, he had a real job that he would have made enough money from to be able to afford to invest well and buy real estate if he wanted to. Talarico is still sharing an account with his mom and has a billionaire (likely) pedophile buddy of Epstein bankrolling his campaign.

And you know why he ran for State Rep? His money was drying up as an attorney because he was REALLY bad at it. - I heard that directly from a former GOP higher up.

There is only one desperate candidate here. He just pandered to 13% of the Texas electorate on a promise to give them money they neither earned nor merit out of the pockets of the rest of the state's population.

That will go over well. But when in a bind and the internals are way behind, count on the Democrat to play the race card and promise anything on the basis of melanin and melanin alone.

I don't understand the hate for him having some real estate holdings, which are likely highly levered rental properties. The value of each is not excessive, they likely aren't even that nice.

Based on what we've been seeing the past few weeks, I think there is a concerning effort amongst black Texas Democrats to sabotage the talarico campaign. He is part of the New Democrats that put pandering to the alphabet squad and trans kids over pandering to Black people.

They will use a Tallarico defeat in November to say Crockett would've won, and use that as a springboard for money raising for her v Cruz.

Oh I am sure Jazzie is going to go after Cruz (and the 'racist Dem establishment' that defeated her this year) next time, but while I think she is the stronger candidate vs. Talarico she's still not 'really good' state-wide.

The black race-baiting/grievance card might win gerrymandered districts for US House but it's not a real winner state-wide and doesn't appeal to hispanics in particular.

The other wild card is whether Cruz even runs again. I think he wants either a Scotus seat or to focus on running for Potus in 2028.

Cruz has repeatedly said he has no interest in a judge seat. You might as well speculate he doesn't run to focus on being a lacrosse coach. The presidential thing may have legs though. But my guess is he stays in the best easiest job in the country.

And to be clear, I'm not saying Crockett would be a good statewide candidate. Im speculating as to the long game black democrats are playing.

Cruz has positioned himself as a top tier challenger to whichever of Rubio/JD Trump decides to endorse/support, and we know Trump wants to be king-maker for '48. Taking him to Scotus may be something that he can conveniently deny interest in now but he would absolutely love writing opinions/oral arguments etc. and I can see that being a facade plus a rationale for both parties (Trump/Cruz) to put him up.

The wildcard would be whether he'd get the votes to be confirmed.

Scott Bessent on line 1. He's being pushed to run for Senate in South Carolina. Doubt he does but can certainly talk about being an openly gay Republican. Oh, wait. He's not in the closet. Talarico being a nominally-closeted gay man is absolutely the least-disqualifying thing about him, imho. I haven't seen a poster here indicate otherwise. But it does make me wonder if some of his vitriol about Texas state legislators who passed bills (to protect children from mutilation/HRT etc) that threatened parts of his 'existence' being so evil illustrates that contradiction Hunter references.

I sure hope Crockett runs against ANYONE statewide. Imagine a debate between her and Ted Cruz. It would be like watching AOC debate Vance--a complete, nuclear-level wipeout. Cruz wiped the floor with both Beto and Colin Allred, both of whom run laps around Jasmine Crockett as being in emotional control of their words. That's really saying something with Beto, as he's borderline stupid in his debating skills.

As for Talarico, I will go back to saying the same thing I've said for a while. The Texas GOP has played the National Dems so hard in the last several Senate and governor elections here. The GOP candidate doesn't really try to be out in front of any cameras, so they let the Dem candidate talk away, burying themselves with the middle voters they need, but getting media slobbering that gathers millions of DNC money here. Then, around early October, there will be a debate, where policy has to get debated. The GOP candidate runs laps around the Dem candidate, gets beat in November, the Dems lose millions on the Texas races that could've helped in other states, and they say Texas is Purple to try and get more money. It's the Rope-A-Dope Strategy that has been fool-proof for a long time now.
