Talarico is a heretic person as he twists the Bible saying he's a preacher. False preachers are warned about in the Bible.

Religion doesn't move the needle for me, since no religion on the planet can be proved. Heretic? Pfft. Whatever. Paxton is an irrefutable and unashamed corruption machine.

This is about policies friend. If you're on board with child genital mutilation/pro transgender policies, Anti O&G policies, Anti-meat policies, Black reparations, and men in women's sports, then JT is your man.

As for me and my house (of 9), we will all be voting for Paxton.

8 kids of voting age at home?

Four daughters, three son-in-law's, and my wife and I

And Only my youngest still lives with us, but she's a junior at A&M

the political cult of evangelism doesn't tolerate Christians who aren't republicans. calling talarico a heretic is an immune response that's more political than religious.

What we don't tolerate are those who claim to be Christian while endorsing the wholesale slaughter of human beings in the womb OR those who embrace sexual deviancy and redefining the Biblical definition of marriage. You can NOT be a Christian and endorse any of the above. To do so invalidates any claims to Christian faith.

Reasonable arguments about how much money government should spend on infrastructure, defense, and limited entitlement programs are reasonable for Christians to disagree on.

Talarico CAN NOT be a Christian and espouse the reprehensible anti-Christian positions he takes.

Of course, we are not electing a 'Christian' but rather we are trying to elect the person that most aligns with our values.

While Paxton has his own problems and detractors, his policy positions align up far more with Christianity than Talarico's do.

I know that comprehension is hard for you OM.

Yup. Huge straw man. Totally ignoring the fact that Christians could rationally take issue with a "pastor" who claims he hates Christianity, and relies on Muslim clerics to shape his "vision" of Christianity, while openly dismissing writings of Christian scholars. Also, a "pastor' who claims that Jesus endorsed abortion.

But sure, it's all a political cult of evangelism.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Talarico is a heretic, and I say that entirely on religious grounds based on the Word of God.

If a Republican was out there saying the same things as Talarico, I would share the same feelings about them.

isn't it weird how they won't defend communist policies they vote for, or why they hate America so much they want to destroy it and try communism, yet they will defend the Christian holiness of reverend preacher theatre kid talrico with deflections about republicans being un-Christian?

Transing kids, six genders, god is nonbinary, friends with a uterus killing their babies because Jesus said it's cool in the bible - all from a Presbyterian minister - is just fine good people if it means fooling the masses into voting us into a socialism we can never vote ourselves out of.

So you don''t tolerate Christians who are Republicans and call them an evangelical "cult" while chastising them for not tolerating other types of Christians...so you can goaltend for a guy that has stated multiple positions on Christianity that don't align with basic Christian doctrine.

So tolerant with your projection.

How can someone call themselves Christian when their "Pastor," Mr. Rigby, denies the Resurrection of The Christ?

It is a foundational element of The Faith. When Rigby and Talarico deny Jesus Christ's atoning sacrifice and subsequent conquest of sin and death so that all condemned by God's Law can obtain Life Everlasting, they are essentially declaring Christ a liar.

This isn't Christianity; this is a bizarro secular humanism grafted onto Christianity and proclaimed righteous because it serves the interests of the political left.

Some of us actually read the Bible, and don't treat it as a political tool,

Chrisitianity is NOT restricted to a political party. But a lot of what Talarico is espousing is unbilbilcal.

His reasoning for the Bible supporting abortion is absolutely ludicrous and monstrous.
There are passages that talk about how God knew you in the womb, before you were born. There are several passages in the old testament about the One God annihilating civilizations that killed children

There have been several rebuttals on this thread to the other nonsense that he spews. If you go to a church that espouses the same beliefs as Talarico, you need to change your church, or read the Bible for yourself.

I suspect that you don't go to a church, and have NEVER read the Bible. No one is pushing the Talarico "pastor" lie anymore because its proven nonsense, hes a snake oil salesman peddling the bible for political gain.

Which is why he's almost assured of losing. Elections are won by turnout of the moderates of each party and independents. More moderate Republicans will turn out for Paxton even though they may dislike him personally than moderate Democrats or independents will for Talarico. Talarico is also not doing well with blacks and a Democrat has to win that vote substantially to prevail. While I am much happier with Paxton than Cornyn, Paxton carries baggage that will affect him. But the Democrats managed to put forward one of the worst options they could in a year the race could have been winnable. Had this been the year Beto ran, it would have been a real threat to flip the seat.

Maybe there's not a need to dump 10+ million into the Texas race. Talarico just produces quality ads for Paxton daily by running his mouth anyway.

All is proceeding as I have foretold. The national groups are withholding their money because Paxton is not a uniparty squish like Cornyn. And when he loses because they refused to fund a "winnable race", we will be told it was because he was a terrible candidate (unlike their buddy Cornyn) and not because the uniparty "moderates" in the GOP-e refused to support him.

I will vote for Paxton, but that doesn't change the fact he is a terrible candidate for the obvious reasons. I understand why some people refuse to put their money behind such a morally/ethically failed person.

The only hope I see is that Talarico is an infinitely worse candidate with all of his far left, loony, fake BS that makes Paxton look like a saint in comparison.

Awful sign of the times when this is the choice voters get. I'll hold my nose and vote for Paxton, not for him, but to keep Talafreako out of office.

No. I think the GOP-e is doing everything they can to try to make him lose so that they can tell us it is our fault for nominating a "terrible candidate". Still think Texans are smarter than that, but I want to call out this behavior because it is what happens when people donate money to national GOP-e groups. When their preferred squish candidates like Cornyn lose, they pout, take their ball (all the money raised to fund "winnable races") and go home, rather than support the candidate that won the primary in the "winnable race". It is their script and they run it every time to punish conservative voters who don't toe the uniparty line and nominate GOP-e candidates.
