And to clarify, the Haitians were eating the cats… and the dogs… and the geese… and ducks from the town parks.

So even when they lie about healthcare for illegals they stick to their election lie about the Haitians dietary preferences.

Its pretty funny because its very low risk for Trump.

The dems get to try and explain why the american people should once again pay for things like npr, illegals health care.

Trump gets to make America laugh and the only people truly upset enough to not vote for him (which is really all that matters to politicians) are those already unlikely to.

Money is fungible. Every dollar they get from the feds to pay for resident medicare is another dollar they don't have to spend from state funds, allowing those state funds to instead be spent on illegals.

As expected, Republicans will cave on ACA subsidies. Book it. Vance has already said they would negotiate on this topic. Hopefully, they hold strong elsewhere:

I have been on TexAgs for decades and have read the Politics board for at least half that time. Fungible has long been a term used here. It perfectly expresses the idea that money cares not how it is spent. I can gamble $100 on a game and pretend it didn't come out of my household budget. Who cares? It's still ultimately all my money.

Not sure which talking head said it, but if they cannot get it done today, then the shutdown rolls on for a few weeks.

Everyday that goes on it's worse for the Dems. Trump has so many levers to pull to reward folks or punish them during the shutdown. See Tale of Two Shutdowns.

As your post indicates, the Dems are flopping like the fish at the end of Faith No More video.

I haven't been able to catch any network or cable news in the past few days, so if it were not for this thread, I wouldn't even be aware there was a government shutdown.

I hope it goes on for another month so people can see how little the federal government actually does for the average American.

And they STILL tell the lie that Trump called neo-Nazi's and skinheads "fine people" even though the video as well as transcript of what he said is easily available. They don't care and know they'll continue to fool the low IQ voters that are a large part of their base.

He is against deficit spending and votes by his principles. That said I don't think he has managed much significant legislation in his career, but Paul is probably more than fine with that.
