“The special nutrition program for women and infants will run out of money, and service members will miss their next paycheck.”…
this is the kind of crap I really hate from both sides in these kinds of shut downs. We have 1000 government agencies that could shut down permanently and the average person on the street would never know they were gone. Instead of defunding those and using the money to keep the military paid and the SNAP programs funded, we are going to be all dramatic and threaten to stop paying our military and helping feed hungry kids. The fact that democrats are causing the shutdown won't mean a thing when we have spent the last week telling everybody we control what will be shut down/cancelled. And now we have Leavitt out there announcing this issue. Way to take a positive situation (the Schumer shutdown) and hang it squarely around your own neck!

🚨 BREAKING: President Trump just SAVED the Women and Children's Food Program from losing money under the Democrats' federal shutdown.
— Eric Daugherty (@EricLDaugh) October 7, 2025
This is because $200 BILLION came in from Trump's tariffs and some of that money will keep the program running.
Trump cares, Schumer does NOT.… pic.twitter.com/3Eu6EeyzYd
The Democrats are so cruel in their continual votes to shut down the government that they forced the WIC program for the most vulnerable women and children to run out this week.

Thankfully, President Trump and the White House have identified a creative solution to transfer… https://t.co/tj9Xt7f4yQ

It appears that you can still drive to Cadillac Mountain during the closure... I hope so anyway, I will be there Saturday.

Wait until the sob stories from the layed off Government workers hits the News. I think massive layoffs is kind of a losing proposition for the Republicans in this situation, while the spotlight is on the shutdown. Don't give the DEMs anything negative to use, that's my opinion. If the Republicans want a win out of this, and a gotcha for the DEMs, they should fight for clean elections. Make the DEMs vote to require documented proof of citizenship for Federal elections. Tie that to the Continuing Resolution since the DEMs want to add their demands, we should be able to add ours.
Just saying don't give the DEMs a bunch of sniveling layed off government workers in the news cycle while the spotlight is on this shutdown...Do the layoffs when nobodies paying attention...

Eh. Legacy media is always going to cast the Republicans in a bad light. They are Democrats and serve as organs for the Democrat Party. They always show partisan bias. We should continue to ignore them, accepting the fact they will slant all news stories in favor of Democrats.
