Thanks, I wasn't sure and didn't care to dig into those particulars. I've met one or two, but once I know their job, I quit asking questions. It's really not something that you want to poke your nose into.
What's interesting about the TSA is that it has actually gotten faster this year with the changes they've made...the shutdown not withstanding. And if you are not in pre-check or Clear then you aren't doing it right.

Just keep the pot holes in our federal freeways fixed and I'm good - don't want to ruin any tires - not sure the rest of that stuff affects me either way. May need to fly to a college football playoff game or 2 hopefully - by then the TSA will be running or the airlines will be paying their salaries and just up my flights cost - I'm good with either one to be honest- just get me to the games !

For those that missed it while diverted by election coverage, Trump caved on SNAP benefits. He's going to adhere to the judges ruling to release funds.
R's are going to cave overall. They are going to knee jerk to these elections. Trump already has. I would expect them to give on ACA subsidies next before reopening government. They've already said they are going to give on them after opening so they will justify this that way.

Where are you seeing that about caving? He said he'd pay them out if the judge could provide the proper guidance on how to do it due to the legality of how the funds were appropriated.

I don't agree they'll cave either. They'll be renewed in some form. The R's have been saying they want some reform to eliminate fraud and perhaps narrow the scope. If they agree to renew as-is without any reforms, then yes that is caving.

That was last week. This was yesterday and said he would release all the funds that were there.

I think you are wrong. I was joking about making a friendly bet over a blue star. I guess my joke failed.
They are against using the contingency funds to cover only ~50% of November SNAP. That would completely deplete the contingency fund which also covers new SNAP coverage for people as well as emergencies, etc.
