Kimmel is back on all stations now. He may suck at humor and have low ratings, but it's a good day that the free market is deciding whether his program is worthy of remaining on air rather than an authoritarian president who is too fragile to allow for a hostile court jester.

The joke about Jimmy Kimmel "Live" is that it isn't broadcast live anymore. It's pre-recorded.
you are too busy gaslighting to realize how stupid it is to cling to the Trump shut down free speech strawman. If he shut it down, that hack Kimmel wouldn't be back on the air. And plenty of folks get disciplined and/ or fired for what they say. This was literally no different than any other workplace in America.Dan Carlin said:

Yup. Proof positive multiple times that Trump and the FCC had nothing to do with this. Jimmy Kimmel is not a happy man: His big “comeback” isn’t looking so big after all. Just 3 days back on the air and his ratings have already crashed by 70%.
Jimmy and the networks thought he’d be a free speech martyr and that people on the left and right would tune in… pic.twitter.com/rHI3rzYJlY

I want to believe that's true, but doubtful. I do expect he'll get more ratings from the hateful left for a while

I'm pretty sure it's true that his ratings dropped 60%+ after his "courageous" comeback after 3 excruciating days by the pool.

You're right, the authoritarian-minded president tried (and failed) to shut down free speech. A true victory for the Republic, regardless of your partisan stance. The problem is that *he tried*. Kimmel had too big of a platform and the pushback was large enough that his network handlers felt emboldened to punch the authoritarian in the nose and resist.
You might wanna ask your therapist about the definition of gaslighting too. You'll be surprised to find that the current president is a master at it over his own supporters.

So kimmel didn't make insensitive remarks about the assassination of Charlie Kirk? You posit it was one hundred percent pressure by Donald Trump? Do you realize how that line of thinking makes you look? That is not rational.

The matter had nothing to do with free speech. I realize that is the uniformed democrat talking point but it is weak and untrue. Your overuse of "authoritarian" exposes you as a biden/harris/obama type and says all anyone needs to know about you.

Sure, the executive branch using the power of the FCC to pressure networks into removing an unfavorable court jester isn't an attack on free speech or sign of an insecure authoritarian. Bless your heart.

Jimmy Kimmel suggested that MAGA camp was desperate to prove the alleged assassin was not one of them. The spirit of this remark is that the assassin was in fact one of them, which I doubt given the evidence we have been shown.
Whether you find this all insensitive is a function of your own self. Whose sensitivity was offended? He wasn't talking about Kirk.
The remarks by the FCC chair during the attempted cancelation, and the threats by POTUS to ABC sent on social media after Kimmel was reinstated, tell you all you need to know about how pressure was applied. It failed, this time. The wannabe-autocrat has let it be known that all late night comics are targets.

You know what I find offensive? That Charlie Kirk was assassinated. That Donald Trump was shot in the ear. That another guy was preparing to take him out. The rhetoric has and continues to be over the top from the left and here you are advocating the continued violent speech, which has led to unthinkable hatred and violence. Stop it. Stop it.

What is "violent speech" and how have I advocated for it?
IMO "violent speech" is the president of the United States using a horrible murder perpetrated by a deranged individual to to cast aspersion on all his political opponents.
