Jimmy said what he wanted to say. That's free speech. He wasn't forced to make those comments. However, his employer apparently did not like what Jimmy had to say. Employers get that say because Jimmy represents their brand. More likely though Jimmy's ratings were not improving and the execs decided the fake news Jimmy was pumping was sufficient justification to pull the show. Again, the employer has that right.

TLDR: Jimmy's demise has nothing to do with free speech and everybody but 713 gets it.
