This was a "Dollar General" level hitman.bangobango said:Coppell97 said:I would say the hired hit theory makes more sense if trying to silence a whistleblower.Mark Stoops said:
I'm going to ask something here that I feel needs to be asked. For those who are in the camp this is a hired gun, he was presumably hired by someone who was denied a claim(s) by UH that was financially devastating.
I don't know if y'all know this, but it costs a lot of money to hire a hitman. And would cost SIGNIFICANTLY more to take out a target of this individual's prominence, to the extent it's even available. Like a lot more. So this supposed individual can't afford out of pocket care for something serious but they CAN afford a hitman to take out the CEO of one of the largest healthcare insurers in the US?
How do you square this circle?
If it's a hired hit it's probably his wife.

Where are you getting all this info?
Found the backpack? Link?
He's back in Atlanta? Link?
I think some of this stuff is BS. Stating he boarded a bus and came in from Atlanta is pure speculation. Even if he boarded a bus to Atlanta doesn't mean he came in from there 10 days ago.
Eta, I'm not saying bonfarr is speculating, I think the media and LEA sources are speculating.

The suspect took a taxi to the George Washington Bridge Bus Station, where police said they think he caught a bus leaving the state. Police said they have footage of him entering the bus terminal but no video of him leaving.

Who is reporting he is in Atlanta?
WSJ still just has this:Quote:
The suspect took a taxi to the George Washington Bridge Bus Station, where police said they think he caught a bus leaving the state. Police said they have footage of him entering the bus terminal but no video of him leaving.
Bus stations also typically have rentable lockers. He could have stashed a bag there before with different clothes, maybe a disguise of some kind, wig, beard. Point being, he could have boarded a bus or changed his appearance so the authorities could have missed his departure.Quote:

Authorities have the name of the suspect who assassinated United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson and are closing in, Mayor Adams said Saturday.
"The net is tightening," the mayor told reporters at a Police Athletic League holiday party in Harlem.
"We don't want to release that now," the mayor said when asked if police have the killer's name. "If you do, you are basically giving a tip to the person we are seeking and we do not want to give him an upper hand at all. Let him continue to believe he can hide behind the mask. We revealed his face. We're going to reveal who he is and we're going to bring him to justice."
Possible they have eyes on his location and are waiting for the forensics so they have solid evidence to be able to hold him, deny him bail.Quote:
That's bizarre article and bizarre things to say when you are not wanting to tip off the shooter. I mean if you don't want to tip them off don't come out and basically say we know and the net is tightening because then the New York Post comes out and says "Authorities have the name of the suspect who assassinated United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson and are closing in"

Remember they had eyes on Kohlberger and then took trash from cans on the curb to get a DNA match before they arrested him.

NY's Mayor says they not only have the assassin's jacket, but intimated that LE knows who he may be.
I will wait for LE to proclaim but the Mayor seems confident.
Time is ticking for Brian Thompson's assassin.
Hopefully, the jacket will provide DNA - Touch DNA on the buttons/Snaps and perhaps hair or sweat DNA as well to aid in the prosecution.
I wonder if LE will find him dead or alive?

The bag they found doesn't look like the one the assassin was carrying. FBI now has $15,000 bounty on him? So... Why would they do this if they now have the identity and they're close??
This has been speculated from the get go.bthotugigem05 said:
Another theory emerging: Thompson and a few other execs were under DOJ investigation for insider trading around some executive stock they offloaded earlier this year. If Thompson was cooperating with DOJ, someone might have wanted to silence him.
