Suggest that you probably treat any information until it's confirmed as LOL funny.

I'm going to ask something here that I feel needs to be asked. For those who are in the camp this is a hired gun, he was presumably hired by someone who was denied a claim(s) by UH that was financially devastating.

I don't know if y'all know this, but it costs a lot of money to hire a hitman. And would cost SIGNIFICANTLY more to take out a target of this individual's prominence, to the extent it's even available. Like a lot more. So this supposed individual can't afford out of pocket care for something serious but they CAN afford a hitman to take out the CEO of one of the largest healthcare insurers in the US?

How do you square this circle?
I would say the hired hit theory makes more sense if trying to silence a whistleblower.

If it's a hired hit it's probably his wife.
This was a "Dollar General" level hitman.

The guy didn't even have his kit operational. Wrong ammo for a suppressor, and clearly was flinching because he hit the guy in the ******* calf at about 10-12 yds. This may have been legitimately the first time this gun, ammo, suppressor were fired together. And who leaves messages on casings?

The shooter was likely politically motivated or somehow personally invested in taking this guy out.

So...it may not have been a large cash expense to get this going.

Where are you getting all this info?

Found the backpack? Link?

He's back in Atlanta? Link?

I think some of this stuff is BS. Stating he boarded a bus and came in from Atlanta is pure speculation. Even if he boarded a bus to Atlanta doesn't mean he came in from there 10 days ago.

Eta, I'm not saying bonfarr is speculating, I think the media and LEA sources are speculating.

Who is reporting he is in Atlanta?

WSJ still just has this:

Quote:

The suspect took a taxi to the George Washington Bridge Bus Station, where police said they think he caught a bus leaving the state. Police said they have footage of him entering the bus terminal but no video of him leaving.

Some Fox affiliate quoted "law enforcement sources".

Bus stations also typically have rentable lockers. He could have stashed a bag there before with different clothes, maybe a disguise of some kind, wig, beard. Point being, he could have boarded a bus or changed his appearance so the authorities could have missed his departure.

The place to do that would be Central Park

Why not both? This guy appeared to know his way around midtown. He had a burner phone so he had advanced planning. Stashing his regular cell phone in a locker would avoid geolocation of it near the Hilton.

Yes he made mistakes but he had given it some thought. The old saying of when someone decides to commit a crime there are hundreds of ways they can screw up. A genius can think of about 50 of those. Most criminals are not geniuses.

One account I read said he arrived in a bus that originated in Atlanta, but they don't know if he got on there or at a stop in between.

From the New York Post https://nypost.com/2024/12/07/us-news/noose-tightening-on-unitedhealthcare-ceo-brian-thompsons-suspected-killer-eric-adams/

Quote:

Authorities have the name of the suspect who assassinated United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson and are closing in, Mayor Adams said Saturday.

"The net is tightening," the mayor told reporters at a Police Athletic League holiday party in Harlem.

"We don't want to release that now," the mayor said when asked if police have the killer's name. "If you do, you are basically giving a tip to the person we are seeking and we do not want to give him an upper hand at all. Let him continue to believe he can hide behind the mask. We revealed his face. We're going to reveal who he is and we're going to bring him to justice."

That's a bizarre article and bizarre things to say when you are not wanting to tip off the shooter but you are doing that. I mean if you don't want to tip them off don't come out and basically say we know and the net is tightening because then the New York Post comes out and says "Authorities have the name of the suspect who assassinated United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson and are closing in"

Possible they have eyes on his location and are waiting for the forensics so they have solid evidence to be able to hold him, deny him bail.

Remember they had eyes on Kohlberger and then took trash from cans on the curb to get a DNA match before they arrested him.

Perhaps. The words just don't make sense if they quoted Adams correctly. Maybe they're watching multiple people and want to see who gets paranoid squirrelly after having said stuff like that since it'll be the latest leading news story update

To me that reads like they may know who he is but not as sure about location and are trying to scare him into making a mistake.

NY's Mayor says they not only have the assassin's jacket, but intimated that LE knows who he may be.

I will wait for LE to proclaim but the Mayor seems confident.

Time is ticking for Brian Thompson's assassin.

Hopefully, the jacket will provide DNA - Touch DNA on the buttons/Snaps and perhaps hair or sweat DNA as well to aid in the prosecution.

I wonder if LE will find him dead or alive?

The CEO was in charge of the heat in the kitchen, and was likely caught in the nasty grease fire he created. Maybe there's a lesson here. It's should be a criminal matter when companies kill their insureds.

And murder is not acceptable. I can understand the reaction to seek retribution when an insured dies because of a denial. The murderer will be put on trial and suffer because of his criminal actions.

But let's bury our heads and bleat about the company profits are paramount to a person's life. That's total BS to take that stand. Nobody is willing to accept the government's death panels but by God let the wonderful insurance company thumbs down on people's life.

The bag they found doesn't look like the one the assassin was carrying. FBI now has $15,000 bounty on him? So... Why would they do this if they now have the identity and they're close??

Another theory emerging: Thompson and a few other execs were under DOJ investigation for insider trading around some executive stock they offloaded earlier this year. If Thompson was cooperating with DOJ, someone might have wanted to silence him.

This has been speculated from the get go.

When United Health data breach occurred earlier in the year, Pelosi jumped on Palo Alto Networks who worked with UHC. Timing was impeccable.

They claim to know his name but aren't releasing it so not to tip him off! Really? You don't think he's already tipped off?

Yet they released new photos claiming he's a person of interest and yet the only photo the have of his face is the one they claimed was his flirting with the clerk at the Hostel

An even different jacket and no backpack of any kind neither the gray one they found or the black one he had in the Hostel photos

This is getting comical

People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because hard men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Assassin is a coward the same as a punk throwing a complete sucker punch. I'll bet in a real fight, the ceo would have easily kicked his ass. He didn't become the ceo by being a beta punk like the assassin.
He will be identified and found. Someone will eventually see the photos and know exactly who it is. I know one person with similar eyes and eye brows, a former classmate of my son, and I immediately thought of him. But its definitely not the college student I know.
