I don't have an issue with the casting, although I do think at times the writing tries too hard to lean into being a rough, difficult personality. I don't need her to be nicer; it just gets to be a bit of a caricature at times. Minor nitpick tho

for sure. the quick snappy sarcastic line gets old when its so often.

I feel the same about Beth Dutton.

I like Ellie though. just wish they would tone that down just a little.

I just watched this series. Knowing that we were headed for an imminent zombie outbreak I took note of most of those while I was watching and thought to myself "you're going to wish you had eaten more when the SHTF."

I'm not a liberal and I think there are plenty of shows that have definitely got the "woke" treatment but this one ain't it.


At the risk of reigniting a weeks-old debate, I think it's the sex scene and PDA more than the fact that the two were gay which clearly makes this woke and agenda-pushing. That's a conscious decision in the writers' room to be more aggressive and explicit in the depiction of gay relationships than hetero relationships.

Stands out to me because they did the same thing in Shadow and Bone, another show I watched very recently.

The only PDA in this entire season of TLOU, having binged it this week after recovering from a minor procedure, is the extensive scenes of two middle-aged bearded guys (scenes that never make it into show if they feature a bearded dumpy hetero guy and his middle-aged gal pal) and the "lesbian/bicurious awakening" scene with Ellie and her friend. Wow, what are the odds?

You're kidding yourself if you won't admit to recognizing this or think this either coincidental or just about the story. It's absolutely an agenda.

Y'all went on for pages and pages after the comment I responded to, so it's been beat to death since that early comment. And the director coming out and admitting he had an agenda drives the final nail in the coffin as to the point I was responding to, if there was anyone with any doubt left. So I wouldn't have even replied if I'd read further first.

Thought a few non-gamers would be interested in a few minutes of non-spoily gameplay. This trailer came out about a year before the game was released and hooked me immediately.
