Well people seem to think when someone says something it's angry and they respond as if someone is angry.
I posted about what I thought was a minor spoiler. I had no clue it was announced or in the trailer. I then says, oh, ok I didn't know it was in the trailer. I said what I thought is considered a spoiler, but I'm not holding anyone else to that strict criteria.
But I was never angry or annoyed about it. And I wasn't angry that people disagree with me about a spoiler.
But people sure do think a disagreement or complain is someone angry.

the assumption that someone is angry isn't limited to this thread, or even texags. Its pervasive everywhere online. Someone posts something trying to have a civil discussion/disagreement and the person replying automatically goes to "u mad bro"?Chuck Cunningham said:

if you have a hunting beef...its that she starts sprinting after a wounded deer immediately. That deer would have been "2 counties over" if you ask a hunter.AggieArchitect04 said:
Great episode! Probably my first or second favorite so far. Loved Ellie.
Not ashamed to say but I loved the brutality of this episode and how it started out low…killing a deer, putting a syringe in a wound, then built…Joel torturing and killing those two guys…then the crescendo of Ellie breaking fingers, cleaver to the neck, and going ape**** stabbing David like 35 times…all this against the backdrop of a group resorting to cannibalism.
Ellie was incredible this episode. I know she's been annoying at times, but a lot of that showed her innocence. And now we see that juxtaposed against a little girl pushed to her absolute limits to, first, take care of her and Joel, and then literally fight for her life.
The ending was touching and, as a dad, "baby girl" totally got me in the feels.
Minor annoyances:
- she said they could have half the deer but gave them all of it.
- I realize it is cold, but the deer sits for hours outside with no one making any attempt to gut it.
- Joel miraculously gains all his strength back just in time to take out 3 guys. Lol

Joel going from death bed to fighting them off isnt that unrealistic. 1) hes in fight or flight 2) he has survived 20 years of a zombie apocalypse. At this point he is built different. Those two, combined with his clear love for Ellie, would turn anyone into a superhuman for a little b
Yeah, but can't it sometimes take days for a normal person to turn? It could have been later. Or sadly, Riley could have been quickly killed once others learned she was infected.gigemJTH12 said:
- I really wish the episode would have started with Ellie back at the mall. I want to see the scene so bad where her friend switches and she doesn't
I was thinking about this too. How fast-acting is penicillin when it is injected? maybe someone with a medical background can answer. If the wound had sealed up and the penicillin does in fact work quickly, then fight or flight response can at least kind of explain how Joel went superhuman in that moment.Quote:

If TLOU goes the way of GOT I am going to go sit in a corner and cry. It's so depressing how such an incredible show like GOT was ruined with such an abysmal final season.Urban Ag said:
If y'all think there is some anger on this thread I hope you were around for the last two seasons of GOT because people lost their ever lovin minds on this board. Just stating (as I did often) that sure there were flaws but it's still entertaining or something to that effect would elicit a barrage of personal insults focused on everything from intelligence to sophistication to claims you lived in a trailer.
I bailed on this thread shortly after the episode 3 discussion and haven't looked but until right now. I thought Ep3 was the best so far (the gay dudes episode) and very compelling, relatable, story telling. For me, it peaked there. The episode that ended with the underground zombie attack was pretty entertaining. Since I have pretty much lost interest. I'll finish it out though. And there is no need to whine about it endlessly.

How I see the show so far:
Episode 1 - Very solid. This looks like it might have some legs. Pretty sold B.
Episode 2 - Extremely solid. I'm invested now. B+
Episode 3 - Very solid and surprising. I did not expect this kind of vignette early on and it makes me even more curious about the story they are planning to tell. B+
Episode 4 - Solid. The development of Ellie x Joel is growing on me, especially with the pun scene. Otherwise, felt very pretty standard. B
Episode 5 - Extremely solid. Everyone talks about the emotional component of the Frank and Bill episode, but this one got to me more than most TV shows can. This was "Not Penny's Boat" stuff at the end here. A (and not an A+ because the antagonist was pretty hokey)
Episode 6 - Very solid. More Ellie x Joel. Got a little more of Joel and his brother. Seeing Wyoming was pretty cool. Awesome scene between Joel and Ellie culminating in him going with her. Really enjoyed this one. A-
Episode 7 - Decent. The first misstep. There was a lot to like, but it felt like a lot of time was wasted. I thought they did a good job reminding us that Ellie is a kid here and that she grew up inside this apocalypse as opposed to our other main characters. Still felt like it dragged in parts even though the set was amazing. First minor misstep of the season. B-
Episode 8 - Nice rebound episode. Great bad guy. Great drama. I kept waiting on Joel to save her when he was torturing the other dudes and wandering through the snow. That was a good bit of storytelling there. A
All in all, this is a very solid series.
Re: Ellie, I think they've done a good job showing us that she's a kid but also that's she's a kid that grew up in this situation. The last episode makes the mall episode make more sense now, even if it was a little slow. She can get a crush or be mesmerized by an arcade like any other kid. But she can also go wild and cleaver a dude like someone that's grown up around infected/zombies. She also thinks she's capable of more than she is, but she's growing a little every episode.

I think if we had one more line about just how "solid" the episodes and show is, we could understand your perspective.
Awww man. I don't want to derail but I'm a big fan of the books (read them twice) but have only made it through season 2 of the show (and since my son and I watch them together when he is home from college it will be awhile...) What the heck happened in the last season? Crap maybe I don't want to know.barbacoa taco said:

Dang. Really enjoyed the show. Watching it with my kids, which is ok. We're just about caught up. I can really do without all the homo stuff though. It's totally unnecessary. I killed disney trash because of it. I get the desire to "check all the boxes" for the woke inventory but we don't need scenes that leave little to the imagination. They can have two people make google eyes or something and we get the idea. That goes for all couples in movies. Even the normal relationships, imply what's happening and move on. Filming is expensive, don't waste it on things that add nothing to the story line. I got two episodes left to be caught up. Is there any more BS I need to watch out for so I can fast forward through? I like the show otherwise. Personally, aside from the woke weirdo stuff, and the zombie weirdo stuff, I believe the rest of it to actually be pretty dead on from a human and government standpoint. We're all 9 meals away from anarchy. One Second After is still my all time favorite realistic post apocalyptic book.
You know, if you select out a couple of episodes and make up your own gap fillers, the last season is bearable. I might let it lie with the last big night battle episode honestly.Stive said:Tailgate88 said:Awww man.
