Dang. Really enjoyed the show. Watching it with my kids, which is ok. We're just about caught up. I can really do without all the homo stuff though. It's totally unnecessary. I killed disney trash because of it. I get the desire to "check all the boxes" for the woke inventory but we don't need scenes that leave little to the imagination. They can have two people make google eyes or something and we get the idea. That goes for all couples in movies. Even the normal relationships, imply what's happening and move on. Filming is expensive, don't waste it on things that add nothing to the story line. I got two episodes left to be caught up. Is there any more BS I need to watch out for so I can fast forward through? I like the show otherwise. Personally, aside from the woke weirdo stuff, and the zombie weirdo stuff, I believe the rest of it to actually be pretty dead on from a human and government standpoint. We're all 9 meals away from anarchy. One Second After is still my all time favorite realistic post apocalyptic book.

It's TexAgs. We've already gone 12 rounds with:

TexAgs Poster 1: "Hollywood is force feeding us homos because everyone in this show is a gay!"
TexAgs Poster 2: "Homos are everywhere, y u mad because they're now in your TV shows?! You are an idiot for posting, why are you even watching?"

It's not that serious, but all you had to do was type "woke" one more time. Three's the magic number after all.

My bad. But seriously, I've had a neat realization with a lot of shows like this and even Hollywood I general.

Yes, I complain about the gay stuff and all that because I don't want to see it. I've heard a lot of complaints from others but if we step back a second, we are essentially saying "man, this woke stuff is terrible but I'm totally ok with indiscriminate killing of men, women and children."

It's interesting the things we decide are not ok and the ones we decide that are. If I'm being honest, the "woke" stuff is the least of what should concern anyone. Kind of hypocritical.

With that in mind, it's entertaining and I'll take it all.

  • I really wish the episode would have started with Ellie back at the mall. I want to see the scene so bad where her friend switches and she doesn't

Yeah, but can't it sometimes take days for a normal person to turn? It could have been later. Or sadly, Riley could have been quickly killed once others learned she was infected.
Quote:

Joel going from death bed to fighting them off isnt that unrealistic. 1) hes in fight or flight 2) he has survived 20 years of a zombie apocalypse. At this point he is built different. Those two, combined with his clear love for Ellie, would turn anyone into a superhuman for a little bit
I was thinking about this too. How fast-acting is penicillin when it is injected? maybe someone with a medical background can answer. If the wound had sealed up and the penicillin does in fact work quickly, then fight or flight response can at least kind of explain how Joel went superhuman in that moment.
I'm a few decades away from treating abdominal trauma but this was very unrealistic. A dirty stick stab would likely perforated the cecum near the appendix there. That would spill poo into the sterile peritoneal cavity resulting in certain death over days. Treatment would require surgery with repair or resection of the pierced bowel, wash out of the peritoneal cavity, day of iv antibiotics and likely a repeat surgery for any intra abdominal abscesses that develop.

Unless the stab did not get past his muscles which seems highly unlikely and wouldn't have made him that septic.

Gawdam.

I might need to start carrying a splintered stick as my self defense weapon. That sounds way more miserable than shooting someone.

But to fair, I have no medical experience and even I was wondering g how he didn't break open all those things inside that aren't supposed to be broken open.

So we all assumed suspending disbelief, and now the doc confirms we were right to.

Side note, the game is arguably worse. Spoilering for those who still want to play and see the difference. Joel falls from a window and is impaled by some rebar that in a very brutal scene, you need to get him off of it
