I loved that entire hour honestly, best of RR episodes by far

If anything, I praise this stuff when it's good and critique it when it's bad. In this instance, consider an "eh" from me sparing you from having to read a long-winded breakdown of the latter.

And that's why you're not a top SW fan. You must bow and worship when its good and burn it down to the point of going after people involved on their social media when its bad

Maybe I just came in with too many expectations, but nothing in that finale really blew me away, or even excited me that much.

Cad Bane was dispatched without much of a fight. They were clearly setting up an epic showdown that we didn't get.

Neither Fett nor Mando ever really did anything particularly cool or exciting before the Rancor arrived. They seemed like they were just bumbling through the battle without even a hint of a strategy. These are the two of the baddest dudes in the galaxy, and both of them have looked much better than they did in this episode.

Black Krrsantan -- Really? You set up a badass warrior like that only to show us him getting his ass whooped the entire episode?

Now the Rancor tearing through the Pykes was, admittedly, pretty cool.

But then Grogu pretty much only using his force power to take out a big bolt from a droid, and then calm the Rancor down...meh. Was really hoping for a cooler moment for him. Granted, he did save the day. But it just didn't "feel" that exciting to me. Nevermind the fact that I thought Luke sending him to Tatooine alone on an X-Wing just felt off to me. Like a manufactured way of keeping Luke out of this episode.

And none of the fighting ever reached the levels of what we saw in Mando, imo. It was just kinda characters shooting at each other. Maybe this is on the director more than anything? I thought the battle at the end of Mando S1 was far better than what we got here.

I guess the truth is I'm not whelmed; I'm underwhelmed.

Also, not even a hint or setup of who was behind the Pykes? C'mon, you gotta at least drop a hint in there to hook people. Cobb Vanth in the bacta tank? Really? I think most people probably assumed he survived. That's a waste of a scene, imo.

Glad I didn't stay up till 3 am honestly.

Best part of the episode was hearing the Mando theme at the end.

Pretty underwhelming finale. At least Cobb is alive

Maybe the Pyke Syndicate was behind the Pykes. They are the one's running the spice mines on Kessel. Didn't feel like there needed to be some mysterious Big Bad behind it all.

And having Qi'ra, who was a villain for about 44 seconds in the least successful star wars movie ever wouldn't have been much of a reveal. As a creature guy, I really loved the scene with the pyke, bane, and the ithorian mayor. Cool stuff.

To me, it felt like we were building toward that reveal. Maybe I was too swayed by the discussion in here.

Yeah sounds like a whole lot of expectations

I will say, the finale was also hampered by putting TOO much into the last episode, I think.

If Cad Bane had been left as a surprise until this episode, it would've had more impact.

I enjoyed it overall, not as good as Mando but it got better as the season went on.

It was fun. Nothing spectacular, but lots of shooting and things exploding. Didn't cheapen the Boba vs Bane fight by having one of his allies jump in and save him... which is where it felt like it was going.

Glad that Grogu bailed on Luke's about to lose it's accreditation Jedi Academy. More better learning out among the stars with Mando anyway.

Entertaining but they have got to do away with the power ranger crew.

They are still god awful and cheesy.

Pretty much everything was super cheesy. Rancor was fun, Mando and Grogu didn't do anything that interesting.

I feel like Luke forcing him to choose and not giving him a lightsaber is a little BS.

At the end of the day I'm glad I got a continuation of the Mando storyline but I would be fine if boba fett is done for a long time.

This seems like something that some of y'all just wishcasted. I don't remember anything from the show hinting at a higher power backing the Pykes.

I thought that was a good finale. I thought the ending with Boba and Fennec walking the streets and being praised was a little weird, though.

after the hype of the last two episodes, i can't help but feel a little disappointed in this finale. that said, if you'd told me after Episode 4 that we'd get Mando, Grogu, Cad Bane and Boba riding a Rancor in the finale, I'd have been ecstatic.

i'm sure i'll have more thoughts as i reflect on it, but for now, i think underwhelmed seems like an appropriate description.

Yep. For once I like that not everything had a big bad pulling the strings.

Agreed. It's more than fine to have a self-contained story.

I shamelessly loved this episode. Gonna go ahead and preorder my Funko Pop Grogu cuddling the Rancor right now...

The scene with Fett and Fennec walking through town I think is to highlight that they will leave the planet and move on eventually.

Haven't read all replies yet so I bet this is redundant (gonna come back later to read, unfortunately I have to go adult for awhile). This one was fun. I know we saw it coming from a mile away, but a rancor rampaging was so cool to see. Loved the King Kong throwbacks. I also giggled like a little kid and rewound it to watch Fett use the knee missiles, I always wanted to see those.

I feel like this almost kind of just mailed it in, meeting base expectations. Almost like it was just checking boxes. It wasn't bad, it just didn't inspire me to want to see more of Mos Espa. I also feel like Black Krrstan was under utilized. Especially after what he did in Sanctuary.

Oh, and the Vespa gang needs to go and never return. I find them to be awful.

I thought the Wookiee was fantastic. He should have died 5 times and he had some fantastic kills on the Pykes with his mega-gun and his pure strength. Chewie would have been dead in 2 minutes out there.

I just never truly believed that Boba felt a sense of loyalty to the city. I needed much more to feel like he would be willing to die for "his people." Also, not real big on the tactics of gather your force of 30 in one area and mass fire at the bad guys. No maneuvering or fire and cover. Just all stand within 20 feet of each other and fire.

This has to be a universally agreed upon fact of the universe. They are Rose/Finn/JarJar bad.

When that one dude did a slow mow spin move to fire his laser I almost died laughing.

wasn't mindblowing, but was definitely a fun final episode

my favorite part was probably boba and mando's solo stand - for the most part it wasn't anything we haven't seen before but it's always fun seeing them kick ass together and show off all the tricks and weaponry they have up their sleeves

Regarding those that know more about the Pykes.

Was the guy Fennac killed the HEAD Pyke, or just some regional Pyke boss type guy? Was he Jabba the Hutt to the Hutt empire? Or was he someone more important?

All in all, this series felt like Disney went to Dave and John and said "hey, since mandalorian is so successful, why don't we do a show with Boba Fett?" and the 2 of them were like, sure let's throw something together. Gave filoni a way to get Cad Bane on screen, wrap him up, and get Grogu back to Mando without needing an episode of his show to do it.

Almost all of it felt half-assed, except the Mandalorian exclusive episode.

It's hard for me to believe any Star Wars fan wasn't hyped up when Mando and Boba both came rocketing around either side of that building on their jet packs to take the fight to the Pykes.

It was fun, my favorite part was when Santo pick up that Pyke, threw him and shot him in mid-air

Things that could have been better:
  • Pauses in battle - people just stopping to watch.
  • Seems like they threw in the assassination of the Pyke leadership in at the end - it was like, oh yeah, Fennec left to take these guys out, we better make sure that happens real quick... and zip zip zip, they're all dead in 35 seconds (cool scene, and she cold-blooded) but seemed like an afterthought.
  • The Fennec narration of their plan... she was sitting there talking to Boba and Din Djarin, but there was like a 20 second pause between each thing she said... in real time, Boba and Din would have been, "okay... continue"
  • The vespa gang still sucked - the CGI was a little better on the vespeeders, but gosh their acting is not good...
  • I knida wish Cad Bane had been wounded and scampered off, it appears he's quite dead... hmmmm

Things I liked:
  • Rancor!
  • Heavy Droidekas
  • Grogu choosing not to be a Jedi, but still wielding the Force and returning to Mando is nice (I could have accepted either decision he made)

Enjoyable but not great.

Some decent payoffs, some fun action. Wasn't crazy about Cobb Vanth getting "killed" offscreen, but feel like action wise, we finally had Boba looking more like how he fought in the Mandalorian than his old man fighting from the earlier episodes. Rancor in action was awesome. Cad Bane's death felt a bit anti-climactic.

I give it a B-
