How do y'all think the rest of the season goes? It seems like two of the biggest storylines to start the season are dead (Sandy/Stewie), or on life support (Kendall). It seems like they're paving the way for a Shiv or Tom turn, but it also seems like Logan is rolling right now.
I think the DOJ storyline is going to become the lead focus with maybe the family in-fighting still playing out in the background a bit.
But how does the season end, and what's the cliffhanger for next year? My WAG is that Logan dies at the end of this season. Seems like they've been foreshadowing this a bit with the heat stroke and UTI.
I don't think Sandy/Stewie are dead yet. You don't hire an actress like Hope Davis and only use her in a handful of mostly inconsequential scenes. Especially in the way they gave her and Shiv board seats in the deal and hinted at something more to come there. If I had to guess, I think S/S/S all come back into play somehow when the heat really turns up in the DOJ investigation.
Overall, what I love is that every kid/relative on Logan's side still has reason to turn on him. They're milking it for all it's worth, in such great fashion, to the point where I'm thinking that's the plot line that the finale hinges on. Tom of course has every reason to turn for obvious reasons. With the Mankin endorsement, Shiv is now on the verge as well. Connor just got passed over President. And if Logan throws Gerri under the bus, even Roman likely goes to Kendall's side. So I wonder if that's the cliffhanger - one if not all of them finally turn in the finale, setting up the "official" battle for next season, and this season is more about getting the teams/pieces in place?
And maybe Tom actually does go to jail? If only because I really, really, really want to see him in jail in season four, not for any moral reasons, but strictly for comedic reasons. That said, it feels like maybe the gods might just "reward" Tom for resisting Kendall's temptation? In a single episode, Tom not only agreed to let Greg's crimes hang on him, but he seemingly resisted the temptation of the snake in garden. So, thematically speaking, maybe those were the first couple of steps toward his "soul" earning some kind of salvation? Or, this being Succession, the exact opposite could happen. I have no idea.
As for Logan, I don't think he dies until the show is done. He's too big of a figure/central character to kill off, to the point where, without him, it'll feel like those sh*tty last few seasons of The Office without Michael Scott. IMO, I think Logan is here to stay until the penultimate episode of the series (and I doubt the show goes any longer than five seasons).
