Dark Mode: Reed Arena set for a 'Black Out' vs. No. 6 Vols on Saturday

It’s officially official: The Aggies are back in black.

On Wednesday, Texas A&M basketball announced they’ll be wearing their black alternate jersey on Saturday at 11 am CT against No. 6 Tennessee for another “black out” at Reed Arena.

This is the third “black out” game under Buzz Williams, with the last two serving as funerals for their opponents.

In 2023, they beat No. 6 Tennessee 68-63 in their “Fightin’ Texas Aggies” black alternate uniforms, and a year ago, they beat Florida 67-66 in those same alternates.

Once again, it’s the sixth-ranked Volunteers coming to Reed during “black out” conditions, as the battle for a double bye in the SEC Tournament could hinge on the result of this game.

The last time the Aggies wore their new black alternates was the 67-64 road win at No. 16 Missouri when Wade Taylor IV hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 1.8 seconds left. This will be A&M’s first time donning the all-black look at Reed in 2024-25.

Just four months ago, A&M football debuted their black uniform for the first “black out” game under Mike Elko, beating LSU 38-23 behind Marcel Reed’s historic second-half performance.

The Pack Reed Propaganda will be at an all-time high as the Aggies look to defend their four-game home winning streak.

Be loud! Wear Black! And BTHO Tennessee!

I've looked at the words for "The Spirit" and it doesn't say anything about black in the lyrics.

Wait a minute!

Did we name our basketball arena after our starting quarterback?
