See, when did he get the idea that the Jedi ever thought that? Yoda certainly didn't come across that way in Empire. Luke was mostly whining over his own failure.
I loved Finn's Rebel Scum line.

May not be jar jar bad but he is the weakest point of both movies I think.

Think how much better Finn would have been if he had been allowed to sacrifice himself for the Resistance.
And it was one of the worst parts of the movie. To intentionally wreck and possibly kill both of them for no reason other than to have them share an awkward kiss. I still can't believe they could have crashed so close to the enemy and he was able to drag her back on foot without being caught.
FWIW, they were completely focused on Luke and wouldn't have cared about 2 little people on the ground. They didn't have troops on the ground either, just staying inside their upgraded AT-AT's.redline248 said:

Also, to the previous comment about Finn should have sacrificed himself....do you think that little craft would have done any damage to the death-star-battering-ram? The heat coming off the weapon had already destroyed what little guns the craft had. His death likely would have been in vain.

The were foot soldiers escorting the cannon as it was moving into position, and Finn was back in the base before Luke walked out there.

and I wish she had not....I was so excited for his arc to be one of true sacrifice...and then she ruined it.
then i was just happy that she apparently died.....but alas no, they put her on life support.
so not only was the mission a complete waste of time and distraction, not to mention Lucas prequel-esque CGI crap, but she ruined 2 potential near deaths for me.

finn is a completely annoying multi time turncoat with bad lines, bad acting, and a terrible plot surrounding him.
rose is another nothing character that is mildly annoying, except for the irrational stupid **** she does, and the full tilt lib/PC subplot she pushes in an offensive way.
that is why they are much worse than jar jar. all 3 suck, but these new two are pushing bull**** on us.

Nothing is sadder to me than people who get their jimmies rustled by "lib" agendas in film.
Why do you care?
Their plot was a weak point in the film, I agree, but calling it out as a liberal thing is just so dumb. You guys need to learn to separate entertainment from your own personal political views.

I would normally agree with this stance. However, for this particular film I believe they went so far in trying to create a message that it cluttered and ruined the movie as a whole. The side stories made the movie too long and clunky.

I generally try to. And the majority of movies don't bother me one bit, but to say TLJ didn't push a narrative is naive.
TLJ pushed several useless, pointless and irritating political narratives.
