I only watch soccer at the WC, but it seems to me that they need more refs on the field. Having one guy having to watch the entire field (and the benches) is just stupid. Having at least three refs would give you much more consistency, and you wouldn't need to go to VAR as often because the refs on the field would see it.

Penalty was weak. The red was spot on. Yes, he bounced of the ball. But he kept his leg locked out as he was going toward and hit the dude. If he even bends it a little like he was trying to avoid, he may still be on the pitch. I played defense for 16 years. I favor the hard tackle. That's a red every time.


This, had a class with a FIFA referee and one of the videos we reviewed was exactly this.

Yep. The speed and locked leg combo and you are gone every time. If he bends it he can absorb some of the force. Locked leg and it's excessive all day.

25 minutes would be insane.

Most stoppage I've ever seen was 11 added minutes.
