I really want to agree with that, but here we are, and there are no signs anyone is really willing to pay what he "should" be worth.

Media saying we've offered MLS to Chelsea. Arsenal fan pages are in complete meltdown mode. In my mind it makes very little sense to move him on right now.

This is an agent thing..... from what I've read MLS has the same agent as Nwaneri & Saka. Guy is a *****. He shopped Ethan to Chelsea to get us to up our offer a years or so ago. Doing that now with MLS. Supposedly shopped him to ManU and now Chelsea.

Transfer news for today:

Reiss Nelson likely headed to West Ham for 3 million pounds. I think he's good enough to play in the Premier League, and hopefully he can return after a good year either with West Ham or someone else.

Jesus is a possible option for Napoli, but Napoli needs more exits before they can afford it. Clubs are talking, but Napoli doesn't yet have a complete agreement with Jesus. If you are Napoli, you might think you can push this towards deadline day and then give Arsenal an ultimatum.

I don't see Osimhen happening unless we.....

1. change to a 2 ST setup
2. sell one of Vik/Havertz
3. move Havertz into an AM/SS role

I don't see #1 happening.

#2 is a possibility but we've heard very little about interest other than Atleti supposedly offering Alvarez in a swap for Vik and some passive statements about Leverkusen "willing to do anything" to eventually get Kai back on the team.

I could see Arteta doing #3 but personally think it would be a mistake. He doesn't fit in the B2B role and sticking him in the AM/SS creates a logjam there (MO, Eze, Nwaneri). Been lots of smoke about Nwaneri being sold, whi

The W market from the last 2-3 windows (including current) should put Marti at 60-70m minimum. I truly don't get why the sale price and general interest in Arsenal players is always so damned low.

It is so weird. If you fail at Arsenal, you might as well retire it seems. Fabio Vieira, Nelson and other players who aren't good enough for us are suddenly deemed not good enough for professional football at any level.

Yeah, I would expect a pretty strong team, maybe almost as strong as we can go. Arteta said Saka and Rice will be involved if they're fit but I would guess that means on the bench? But our depth is such I think that's not a big worry to throw out a strong squad.

Also, while we have Coventry on Friday, 8/21, we have a long week before Aston Villa on 8/31.

I don't know this source, but it does seem like if Jesus has any desire to actually play, he'll agree to terms and be off to Napoli. There are rumors he won't agree to Napoli because it is too big a wage cut

Mokbel saying we may authorize the sale of Zubimendi if we don't sale off other players. I don't understand where all of a sudden we are desperate to sell off players. All spring it was said we were in a good financial situation. Then this summer they were willing absolutely demolish the wage bill for Vini. Something just doesn't add up. Selling anyone of the key players from last year only weakens the squad and the replacement would cost more than we'd make.
