Terrible ref. Let WAY too much physicality go early and then lost control in the 2nd because of it. Forced him to give several weak yellows to try and regain control.

They got it correct on the field live saying offside too (but for the wrong reason) then VAR ignored Enzo interfering from an offside position.

Haaland started in an offside position as well it looked like, I don't understand why a small touch off a defender negates that piece as well?

This does a great job explaining it all, including what's involved in the review process. But Haaland was on even tho he looked off on TV. More damning is that multiple people are responsible for catching a VAR error like this and they all missed it somehow.

Interesting. Can someone explain how this lineup is going to work? Zuby at RB or are we doing something like three in the back? MLS returns to LB? I thought Salmon played RB . Just interested to see how this lineup fits together.

More like one in the back with big Gaby anchoring the defense with MLS, Zuby, and Salmon pushing up the field? Zuby really playing the six perhaps or right wingback? Assuming Eze is a true 10 in this setup with Merino and Bruno floating around and marauding up and down the pitch. The issue with this major change up is it can introduce weaknesses on the backend with defensive responsibilities not clearly defined when defending the counterattack. With Ipswich perhaps it doesn't matter. Should be interesting and glad to see rotation, especially with Rice and Martin finally getting a rest.

Looking like our normal setup. The benefits of having versatile, skillful players. Marli clearly well versed in both RCB and RB and Zuby versatile enough to play RB if called upon. Bruno obviously a force to be reckoned with as the number six. The lineup graphic showed Eze in the middle but Max filling that role tonight.

Where is Gyokeres?

I was much higher on what he produced last season compared to most, but was expecting him to build on that and really be a factor this season.

It seems like the offseason noise completely unplugged him. Seems like he was in Arteta's doghouse for the desire to be moved, but when he has gotten minutes he's been a ghost. Invisible.
