I'll give Villarreal credit. They have a style of play that allows them to compete at a higher level than the otherwise might. But that style of play is effectively "beat the ever living **** out of you".
This is all about getting the best PK takers on the field at this point

I've gotten to 8 kickers in a HS playoff game but never farther.
Ole may be a really good man manager, and from all appearances the players think he is, but he's got no tactical clue about avoiding teams that sit in this block. I get that's hard to deal with for most teams but they have to find a way to be better there.
Hitting 10 or 11 in a row seems statistically unlikely in any circumstance. Getting down to the bottom of the order makes it even more remarkable.
Well...everything about that sucked.
We played horribly, got outcoached, had better players and underperformed, had to watch 120 minutes of crap, and endured 22 freaking PKs only to watch us lose. And now it's midnight.
I literally can not think of a worse game to endure. Everything about it was horrible. Not one redeemable thing about it.

I am not even close to an expert but it just seems like he isn't there mentally. Struggles with committing to a side. He starts one way and but doesn't fully commit until the ball is on its way. Would rather see a committed wrong guess (eventually will be right) vs half attempts.

I think this was a big managerial problem.
I don't know how we didnt put in fresh legs earlier in the game.
Mata, Fred, James, Van de Beek all could have had an impact in the actual game.
Also....does Van de Beek beg to be moved? Why is he on our squad? Why did we sign him? Find ways to get him involved or let him go....

100%. Ole has terrible game management in regards to making timely subs. Our starters get run into the ground all year instead of giving the bench players an opportunity to prove their worth.
