I get what you're trying to say...I think. Yes, you have to defend to a degree in order to play counter attacking football. But you have to defend to win games so it's not like it's bad to defend. Hell, Barca's best teams, for all their tiki-taka and possession, were the ones that defended well whether by more "traditional" methods or by high pressing and ball hogging. It's extremely misleading and borderline criminal to use the phrase "parking the bus" and counter attacking football together. Both possession and counter attacking football are attacking, offensive brands of football...one just doesn't have the ball as much as the other. "Parking the bus" refers to the completely defensive focus employed when you have the ball, IMO, not the fact that you are actually trying to defend.
