He is supposed to play as a CDM. Unfortunately now KDB is almost guaranteed to be sacrificed to pay for this transfer. Now for CDM you will have Matic, Ramires, Super Frank, Mikel, and Essien.

if you don't understand the difference between the glut of attacking midfield talent Chelsea has and the relative lack of quality defensive mids the team has, I question what you have been doing the past few years when you claimed to be watching the game...
lampard, while I love him, isn't a great cdm. Essien is past it. Ramieres is a good player and puts himself around the pitch for sure but his defensive discipline is lacking and even if you consider him a pure cdm, we are still lacking in depth considering all the tournaments we are still in. Lots of fixtures to go. Good signing, much better than schurrle and willian over the summer.

Fear not, I get it brotato. Luiz, Ramires, Super Frank, Mikel, and Essien can all be tossed in the CDM, just didn't think the addition was that necessary, IMO...guess I'm just butthurt we didn't snag a ST of some sort.

I am ok with it as long as The Chelsea don't suffer any injuries. The only true fullbacks on the roster are Azpilicueta, Cole, and Ivanovic. I still would rather have Ivanovic play as a CB.
