Completely agree. I'm working with a snake charmer, but I'd like a Judge. You get style points, my friend. It's doubtless several posters will disapprove of our conversation regarding personal .410 preferences for killing venomous snakes. Emphasis on venemous, guys.
You need to double your budget and get a shotgun by a maker that starts with a B...

I'm a huge snake fan and I'm not messing with a venomous snake. My dogs are more important then any snake. Depending on the situation I may let a coral pass but even then i would make sure he moved along. All my kids are grown. It when they were younger even a coral in my yard would meet his maker.

Wasps and hornets, on the other hand. They meet death by fire or wasp spray.

natures biggest a-holes. This thread has convinced me not to be prejudiced against snakes, but there is no argument that will convince me to not pour gasoline on every wasp/yellow jacket i come across. sorry for the derail.

Yes it ended up being a Skink, and not a snake. She is going to try and save the next anyway, and put her flowerbed in later and let it hatch it's eggs.

Vander is correct, it is definitely a skink. Maybe five lined skink, but honestly not 100% on species.

always been fascinated with skinks for some reason. My granddad's house in midtown Memphis backed up to Christian Brothers University and a particularly wooded part of campus so we did a lot of exploring back there as kids and would come across skinks all the time. There was this one oak tree stump with a couple of hollows in it and when I looked inside saw two big brown skinks in there.

I tried to catch them but to no avail. Felt like that scene in the movie Flash Gordon where they were reaching into the stump. LOL.
