I'm liking the look of that Prime.
I like it more every arrow. Couple small tweaks this weekend and then the marathon practice sessions begin!
Day 1 and it has already accomplished what the wood bow couldn't!
I finally go my Bowtech back with its new string. Now it's time to dial in the new Spot Hogg with my "heavy" arrows. I also added the Bee Stinger 10.8 kit. Initial impressions are encouraging.
I'm picking my bow up today after getting a new string made & installed. Looking forward to getting some shooting done this weekend.

Sort of related...how can the Arkansas resident elk draw still be pending? I made my brother and his wife apply and still no official word. I would be writing letters and phone calls and all kinds of nonsense if it were my application hanging in the breeze in freaking August.
They usually announce the results at some banquet. Not sure if you can google the dates...

I thought they did the drawing at a festival at the end of June, but the online statue remains as 'pending.'
You may be right. My nephew drew the youth bull tag last year but I don't remember when he found out.

Bacon & peanut butter delivery system -
Last year a made a pile of them ******* sanmiches and took a bunch of places. They are handy and I like them for the most part, but the bagel is sure annoying to eat. Thinking about trying some other handles out. Don't they make skinny bagels? Got to have some structure to it to vacuum pack otherwise I'd load up tortillas like a real fatty. Bacon Peanut butter taco. Hells yes.

I plan to make some more dehydrated brisket prior to the season and could send more out if it's in demand. I see a teriyaki chicken recipe in the future as well.

Should also help narrow your pin gaps too. Moving your pins further in front of your riser is a good idea in my opinion.
Sweet! I'm going to wait another couple weeks then start making a lot more and can send a couple out. They should keep for 2+ months, but want to make sure that they'll be good for all of hunting season (well my hunting season at least).

I gotta get some real work done so I'll just cut to the chase for now. I would absolutely carry that meal in my pack. I think you can improve upon it, but I knew right away that it wasn't a Mtn House, it tasted good, and was very satisfying.

Last year I kilt an elk with a killzone. Year before I kilt one with a montec.
I think I'm going to see how the montecs and one other fixed fly at distance. If I like them I won't worry about trying anything else. If I can't get them to group like I like I'm thinking of trying a 1.5" mech - rage or killzone. I know some of you shootems the rages.
Mostly I'm going to do what I want. But, we can talk about it on here. What's everyone shooting? Arrow this year is going to weigh in right at 500. Unless I decide on a little more FOC and bump it to 525.

I'm shooting 125gr Rage 2 blade Hypodermics on the front of an Easton Axis 300. Just over 500gr total package.
If you shoot Rage, shock collars are a must. O-rings suck.

Do all the rages open the same way? The ss same as the hypo?

Took advantage of a rainy day and trimmed up some more stand sites today. No shooters on the cams I pulled today but lots of does. Hopefully we can make meat early on the season. I'm tired of shooting a block and I'm ready to make something bleed.
I have been doing a pretty good job on my lean protein lately. Just had venison fajitas, venison sloppy Joe's for lunch, after a woodcock, bacon and egg omelet for breakfast.
We've been working hard on the ground meat to clean up the deep freeze before the bloodbath begins.
Dammit, it was high. Lots of blood on impact but a cold trail after about 30 feet. Not giving up just yet. Not a pass through.
