There's a couple that are ~67% draw odds w zero points. I think eagle county is 100% but it's non wilderness and steep.

Probably do OTC archery in 15 again. And put in the draw for deer there too. 3td times the charm... It's going to be miserable. And I can't wait

Last night I dreamt I was hunting something like a cross between the Himalayas and Mordor with 10k of elevation change between me and anything. I'm effing ready to go today.
Idaho elk is $416.
Buddies and I plan to DIY mule deer in Colorado this year. No preference points so our options are somewhat limited. We've already spoken to a couple biologists and think we have a unit and general area in mind.

Rifle? or achery/muzzleloader? There are a lot of 0 point options if you're shooting a bow or a muzzleloader.

Trying to line up a pronghorn hunt in Area 29. This will be my first year hunting outside of the state of Texas. Looking at the odds, I'd have a hard time drawing a general Type 1 tag. Fortunately, a Type 2 tag has 100% draw odds. If I'm reading it right for that Area, a Type 2 tag is the same as a Type 1 tag except that Type 2 is limited to private land only. Works out for me, as the land I'll be hunting is privately owned.
ETA: 5/31 deadline is for Antelope only. Elk was 1/31.

I don't know what that means.
I'm not hunting the mountains this year although I am going back this summer to look for my Aggie Ring, let the dogs chase dusky grouse above timberline, and maybe look for sheds. I'll also fish down on the floor some.
Then this fall I'm going to chase birds somewhere (probably Nebraska and maybe Minnesota?) and may try to shoot a Kansas speed goat. That's enough for me this year and won't cost me an arm and a d***.

Fair enough. I'm not sure I'll get to go back due to budget reasons, but I wish I could.

Haven't ever even done my first DIY western hunt yet but I bought goHunt and dove in balls deep. For some reason planning long term and short term strategies for points and species in different states is super enjoyable to me.
This year I'm either doing an elk rifle drop camp in Colorado, a DIY archery hunt in Colorado with another group that's gone once before or trying to do a DIY antelope hunt in Wyoming with zero points. Trying to get people to sack up and commit and get it nailed down in the next week or two.

That's part of it for me too. I really enjoy researching potential western hunts and daydreaming about my long term strategy.
Colorado elk and Wyoming pronghorn are both great entries into the addiction. My group was able to draw a 2nd choice Wyoming pronghorn tag a couple of years ago. We collected a point and all tagged out. It was all that research that led me to GoHunt. And the fact they lured me with a Stone sheep raffle.
Wyoming elk results are up.
I got a general tag, my brother did not.
We will likely be hunting somewhere near jackson.

Right now I am looking at unit 81, 84, and 85 in Wyoming if anyone has any advice they want to offer up.
