How did he ignore the signs?

Knowing your wife has been prescribed 32 different medications for various psychological issues would seem to be an indicator that something is afoot.

Idk if he "ignored the signs," or whatever, but it seems like there were some there.

I doubt he knew about the 32 different medications his wife was taking.

I say that from experience.

Coming in late to this but I had HH with a younger girl friend of mine this week and she told me this case is their OJ. lol.

Women absolutely obsess over the true crime genre. She's a conservative gal and one of the smartest people I know, but she's all in the conspiracy camp on this one that the guy did it. She laid out the case for me and gave me all these suspicious things.

Haven't paid attention so no idea if anything she told is accurate but I'm just laughing at her at this point.

I hate to break this to you, but your friend is an idiot.

There isn't a single person that is actively involved in the case that is claiming anybody other than the mother killed those kids.

Yeah, she's mostly having fun with it. Basically a video game to her and most of these chicks. She's not in the actual outrage camp over it and won't care if she's convicted.

Yeah, creating conspiracy theories for fun about 3 murdered kids seems like a healthy and intellectually inspired hobby for sure.

Social media poison. The case has become the popular thing to gossip and conjecture over and opine narcissistic opinions about, unfortunately. It's the social controversy that online females are expected to have an opinion on and of course it is a magnet for conspiracists and edge lords and attention seekers and the like.

It is insane to me that some persons, contrary to all the facts in evidence and the actual admission of guilt that people are constructing claims that others committed the murders or caused them. People duggesting that possibly ought to seek mental health treatment themselves, but considering how many adults are on SSRI right now, maybe they already are for the most part.
TrumpsBarber

The defense has called on friendly witnesses including the father and both grandmothers. I do not know if any family members are actually advocates for the child victims. That seems unnatural. I wonder what the grandfathers (assuming they are both alive) think about the trial proceedings. How strange that would be if only the prosecution wants justice.

Yep, I'm sure. And I'm not laughing about the murders here. If the wife is guilty, she should fry.

My friend is your typical woman who loves true crime drama. Women love that genre for some reason way more than men. Probably wouldn't exist if women weren't so obsessed with it.

For her, this is entertainment like action movies are for men.

So a desperate guy with a genuinely crazy wife and zero medical experience should be forcing his crazy wife to ignore what medical doctors are prescribing her in an attempt to combat her mental illnesses?

Do you have kids? One kid is a handful. Expecting a man to hold down a single income job, manage three kids, AND baby sit a crazy wife through every minute of life is a task so tall I would not wish it on anyone.

No serious, informed person doesn't believe she is guilty and the sole perpetrator. Even she admits that. The issue is only if she was mentally competent and therefore legally responsible.

This is a really silly way of dismissing the fact that it certainly seems like a majority of women are on this woman's side. At minimum they think she's justified because she was sad, at most they think the husband framed her because he's a Gemini.
Quote:

My view is that it is possible she was severely mentally disturbed and possibly psychotic given the evidence and testimony I have seen so far.

The problem is that she's shown no signs of psychosis since, and it would be hard to argue she's psychotic but the typical brutal murderer isn't.
Quote:

The real question here is what is proper to do with a perpetrator that commits a terrible act while in a psychotic or deranged mental state that was not voluntarily self induced by narcotics.
I believe we are too lenient in regards to long term institutionalization. I sympathize with their condition but the reality is they are a danger to others snd themselves and unless they serve a long commitment to an institution to prove they are treated and recovered, they should be incarcerated if guilty of a violent act. Prison or mental institution, it should be a long duration .

Mostly agree, but it should be hard incarceration for life, if not the death penalty. We can't risk scheming murderers being released among peaceful people. No matter what you think her state of mind could have been at the time, she schemed and executed the plan of 3 brutal murders. Gotta be gone.

The issue isn't true crime fascination in and of itself. The issue is that they can't understand the difference between reality and fiction. They can't understand what "true" means. It's the inability to separate Reality TV from reality.

The inattentive husband narrative derives completely from Woman Internet.

He had to know she was not of sound mind. If those kids could talk bet they would ask him why didn't you get us out of harm's way?

But they can't talk be use she killed them dead. She needs to be punished for her crime and he needs to be punished for lacking sound judgement.

All those white women protesting makes a strong argument why our founding fathers didn't let women vote.

Yep.

I couldn't even guess at how many Rx's my wife takes regularly. It may be 1 or 2, it may be 12 for all I know. I don't pay attention to that stuff at all. She can tell you how many I take though.

If she was hiding things from the docs, 100% she was hiding a lot of things from her husband as well. Doubt he knew about most of the meds she had prescriptions for.

Same here. I dont know why, really, I was drawn in by the Paradise Lost doc ( there were several of them made over the years from trial, conviction, to exoneration) on HBO about the WM3 from the 90s. I just like knowing and following the facts.

There is a creepy subculture of people that are "online slueths" who try to solve cases from their keyboards and sometimes make up outlandish claims trying to "break the case" or for likes, views, subscriptions, whatever that is disturbing at times.

The discussion forums are very heavily female for some reason.

I'm not blaming him...I am just saying it sounds like there had to have been some sort of signs there...if you are taking 32 meds for mental conditions, you are not stable. This clearly did not happen completely out of the blue.

But obviously, it is not his fault she is crazy and after the kids, he is the biggest victim in all of this.

Yes, there were signs, and he was by her side trying to help her the entire time. He had 4 or 5 months paternity leave after their 3rd child was born and then he worked remote when he started working again.

Thinking he ignored signs or wasn't attentive is not in evidence.

Same...and when I explained this case to her she was sick to her stomach and said the woman needed to pay. She was shocked when I told her how many women were defending her and even attacking the one victim who remains alive, the father that had his three children brutally murdered while he was out running errands for his wife.

Yep, I do not envy his position. I would not wish that level of torment and constant stress on anyone. Witnessing what a man goes through when the wife he always knew and loved is no longer there, and instead it's basically a crazy soulles stranger...f me, hell on earth.

Thought esperiment for the crowd...If your wife is legitimately insane and getting crazier, what really can you do if therapists and doctors are prescribing certain things for it. And if your crazy wife wanted to get off of certain meds and try different ones, how do you stop her? Physically? Physical altercation? Remember, she's crazy as all getout and canot be reasoned with.

Of course there were signs. The amount of stress her poor husband had to have been under as the sole provider, with THREE kids, and heaviest of all, a psychotic wife. And as crazy as that all may have been, I bet you it never crossed his mind that she would actually ever murder their children.

I hope the rest of his life is somehow amazing, he deserves it. May God comfort and protect him.

She had recently been discharged from an inpatient facility...of course there were signs. But even so, her husband had been told by her docs that she is well enough to reintegrate into home life. He risks upsetting that difficult balance if he treats her with suspicion or refuses to let her be alone with the kids or to go on errands to the pharmacy or for dinner.

So what are all these women protesting for? They want to blame the husband.

Why? They always want to blame the husband.

I saw an X post a while back where a women said when she did something stupid that was her fault - like breaking a dish or cutting her hand or some other simple mistake - she would instantly get furiously mad at her husband. THOUSANDS of women replied they did the same thing.
