You're assuming this was a single, isolated event and he planned on just walking away and back to his life, but him keeping his gun and fake ID's makes complete sense of he intended to kill other people and was simply waiting for his next opportunity. That certainly seems like the case.
I guess, but if he wanted a gun for personal protection or planned to commit some more assassinations/go out in a blaze of glory, just buying a Glock at whatever the Yankee version of Academy is a few months ago would have served the purpose.

I think the reason he wants to distance himself from the money is it goes against his anti-capitalist ideals and his Crusading little guy striking back against the evil corporation theme. The typical criminal martyr isn't so well funded by their family's generational wealth.

In all likelihood he was paid to shoot the CEO. Dont get me started on who likely paid him.

He was book smart no doubt, an engineer. Just read an interesting comment on the Fox website.

The poster was wondering what all the professors taught him. The thought dawned on me - it would be pretty awesome if the CEO guy's family could go after a radical prof for brainwashing and destroying the mind of a kid which resulted in a murder.

Super far-fetched but wouldn't that be a story, with discovery and all? Pull the damn curtain back.

The case wouid be quickly dismissed with no discovery.

That's what that crooked Altoona PD is known for, sticking a bunch of cash and foreign money on perps. Let's just go with that Luigi. Going to be a fun trial if he's not Epstiened.

Cryptic Video Linked to Luigi Mangione Pops Up on YouTube Hours After Arrest

"If you see this, I'm already under arrest," said a caption in the silent 84-second clip posted by the account @PepMangione, which matches other social handles that appear to be those of Luigi Mangione, the man arrested on Monday. The message was accompanied by a countdown from 60 seconds. Near the end of the video, the message, "Soon..." appeared at the bottom right of a black screen. A second caption appeared at the end of the video, saying, "All is scheduled, be patient. Bye for now."

Anything else out there about this??

Most likely fake or a copycat right??

From that news article, they updated after speaking with somebody from Google:
Quote:

A second video was scheduled to go live at 6:45 p.m. EST on Monday, but YouTube suspended the account before it started streaming, after this story was published.

Appears to all be legitimate. 11 month old account matching the usernames he used on other platforms and disabled by YouTube (google)

I've decided to make lists of things our wannabe ninja assassin did both right and wrong as a hitman.

Things he did right:
- Was able to identify, locate, and ambush his target
- Was able to acquire and assemble a 3D-printed gun with no purchase or serial number to trace
- Was able to operate the gun, even clearing it of jams in the middle of the shooting
- Arrived and departed NYC relatively anonymously
- Managed to stay mostly underground for ten days, his face getting caught on video only a handful of times
- Risked revealing his face in order to get some poon

Things he did wrong:
- Risked revealing his face in order to get some poon
- Stayed in the city ten days before the shooting, invariably getting his face on on video a handful of times
- Even with no serial number, he had an odd, unique gun that raises questions if caught with it
- He did not immediately get rid of the gun
- When confronted by police, he used the same fake ID that had already been reported in the press
- He's a bad shot

My conclusions. He was more lucky than a master assassin. And the surveillance police stay is not as efficient as we may think, but it will eventually find you.

The 10,000 cash is a bit strange, along with his denial of it.

I'd like to know more about it. Are these rounded up general amounts or did the guy have stacks of fresh bills? What was the foreign money, Canadian dollars?

I suspect there's some intervening factor, like perhaps substance abuse, substance induced brain injury, roids, etc

Not going to derail so it'll be my last post on this particular hair splitting item of cowardice. I disagree with his actions and find them undoubtedly wrong and appalling. However, that takes a great deal of fortitude and bravery to carry out a hit (clearly not in a traditional sense associated with those). Again, I do not condone or defend him but let's admit that it takes some big balls to do what he did.

Only thing more cowardly is if he would've swallowed the end of that pistol and ended it for himself before having the face the consequences.

I'll at least give him a little credit for that.

Who is lionizing him? I haven't seen anyone do that. It's just clear he has some unfortunate circumstances in his family and personal life with medical issues, then he used psychedelics that fried his brain, went insane, and shot a guy.

What did the CEO do? The top institutional shareholders and BoDs have more to do with UNH profit incentives/policies than their spokesperson CEO.

Unless Thompson was outspoken about screwing over customers, I don't see how anyone can take this position about the shooter "having balls".

Well, the CEO is the face of the organization. Any org.

He gets the big bonuses for work he did not do. He may get shot for decisions he did not take. Life balances out.

I want to see if the insurance industry responds and stops cheating and defraiding people, just because they are afraid of getting assassinated by some random guy.
